I love RAM letters, that stuff is all very cool.

In those days, letters were typed and not computer generated.   A true collectable item.

Love the position title in the Mint's letter ......

I wonder if they are titled The Baht Controller in Thailand?

Dr Davey, the person who gave it to her was the Secretary of the Decimal Currency Committee.

Needless to say I'm very pleased with it and it only has two fold marks on it.  It came with a 1 and 2 cent piece, but after being stuck down with sellotape it hasn't treated them well with their time. I have removed her name for privacy...

It's taken 6 years but I have finally found one  of these and added it to my decimal changeover collection.

FWIW,

The next Downies Auction on 21st May has a large assortment of 1966 changeover souvenirs at  item 903.

Some items are quite rare.

UPDATE:

Item 903   estimated $100    SOLD for $260  plus buyer's premium.

CONCLUSION   - there is still money to be made with "changeover collectables"

It's amazing how Downies charge over the top prices when their auction estimates are very low

My Dad found this when he was cleaning up. Thought this was the right thread to post it. It's in terrible condition and is missing what looks like coins that were glued on, and the bottom section with what I presume had the fake $20 notes on it has been cut off.
