Breaking news out of London... The Queen has died at the ripe old age of 91. It is believed she was suffering from a bad case of the flu. Like all the readers on this forum, I wish her my sincere condolences. :(

Thus, we now have a new king - Charles III. The RBA has been preparing for this scenario for months, and it has just been revealed that they have already printed over 70 million $5 notes bearing the new king's effigy. :drooling:

Although it will take several weeks for the new King Charles notes to become widely available, there has been an embargo placed on the issue of the old Queen Elizabeth notes, meaning that they will be actively withdrawn from circulation. Thus, now would be a good time to start stockpiling them.

Most of the new King Charles notes will be distributed via banks, but in order to make the transition as smooth as possible, and increase public acceptance of the new monarch, they will also be distributed via major supermarkets like Coles and Woollies. :)

Under a special contract with the RBA, security companies such as Armaguard have already had these notes in storage for months, and they are now required to issue them instead of the old ones.

Thus, I think we should have a competition today to see who will be the first to get hold of one of the new King Charles $5 notes. Both Coles and Woollies will be fertile territory for this, because Armaguard visits them daily, but those who go to Woollies will have the added bonus of getting some of the new Commonwealth Games coins as well. :yahoo:

You can also wait until Tuesday to get them from Westpac or the Reserve Bank, but not if you want bragging rights. :biggrin:

Good luck and happy hunting!!! :)

I won't be able to get to Woolies for a few days. Too busy with the Spaghetti Harvest at the moment.
Anyway, our local bank branch never gets any of the new notes for ages. Could be even years.

Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

[attachment=3744]Is this a serious post?
I can't tell.

I went to news.com.au and I could only find articles on sport (or their wives)

Edit: Hmmm, it would appear I've been had. :) There was a lot of detail in the story.
There\'s no such thing as too much Borobi!
