That would be right.   Up the costs to recoup the vast amount paid out to the outgoing CEO.

Jenny, You didn't express in properly! Australia Post does not have increases; they have "updates" and "changes". They also have (not mentioned in that document) "reviews". Never admit to a price increase seems to be their policy -why tell the blunt truth when you can confuse the issue with a euphemism?
Some prices in the parcel rate tables have "(no change)" next to the amounts. Others have nothing -I would be prepared to bet that all those, presumably changed, are upward variations.

Small (500g) parcels are starting to get a bit pricey now.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

I bet that if the cost went down, they wouldn't be referring to them as "pricing updates". Rather, they'd be using a word commonly found in junk mail, the Gippsland region of Victoria and a former TV show from Channel 9. ;)

Australia Post service is a national disgrace with their slow delivery and price hikes

I agree. I'm still waiting for Maccas almost a week after it was sent. :(

How long before it becomes cheaper to hand-deliver stuff in person?

Its been faster for quite a while now.

I recently received an Express Post package from a company one suburb away. Took a couple days. I jumped on the bike and was talking to the guy who sent it ten minutes later.

I meant faster for me to go down to Newcastle and collect it directly from Shane instead of waiting for it in the post. Regardless of whether I used public or private transport, I'm sure I could do that in less than 8 days.

As there is NO other "Viable" alternative Most of us are stuck with Aus post unfortunately and they can pretty much charge what they like because they have us by the short and curlys :dash1:
