I am not excited about moving to a new gallery system because of all the existing content that would be lost.  Neither am I interested in spending a tonne of time getting all the information into a new system.  I've got the old gallery working now, the move will happen in the next day or two.

The problem with the current gallery (as I stated on one of the other threads) is that you need Flash to upload multiple pictures at once. I disabled Flash about 18 months ago because of all the security problems it had, but as of 2020, no major web browsers will support it. Flash is rapidly being replaced by other technologies, like HTML5, so you should be looking for an alternative to it if you don't want everyone to have to upload their pictures one at a time. :ok:

Flash was always a pig that should have been strangled at birth. Glad to see the end of it.

But yeah, switching will become as inevitable as the NBN. Might as well bite the bullet early. AFAIK, Gallery is totally painless. I used Gallery 2 ages ago, and there was no grief moving from Gallery 1. And it worked seamlessly in several environments, including Joomla and a couple of BB's I played with (don't ask me which ones, I lost the hosting when my mate quit his SysAdmin job to photograph musicians instead, so I can't look).

There's a new HTML5 multiple file uploader plugin available.  I'll give that a try once we're moved.

Thanks, Mark. I'm really looking forward to it. :)
