So you agree that China be allowed to possibly interfere with and therefore control areas of the South China Sea that may potentially be cause for international concern?
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

I didn't say that I agree with what China is doing in the area But I certainly don't think it is enough of a concern to start a shooting match between two nuclear powers over.
Trumps rhetoric towards China is most certainly Not helping the situation one iota.
Quite the opposite as I imagine that China thinks that it Needs to militarise the area now instead of just wanting to.

China went past the wanting to militarise the area stage years ago. They have built bases on disputed islets and engaged in aggression against both local nations ships and the US. Are you forgetting that the Chinese air force hit (rammed) a US EP3 plane flying over international waters (and not far from the disputed Paracel Islands) and the US plane was forced to make an emergency landing and made prisoners for 10 days. The Chinese stripped the plane of all the high tech surveillance gear.
Should the West appease the Reds? Or should Trump not be a Chamberlain?

I reckon they should stick all politicians on toilet paper, at least until they find a way to govern in the national interest. Even preschoolers are more mature than the current crop of pollies. :ireful:

Yeah, you never know as the 'éxperts' said Saddam was only 'Sabre Rattling' as regards Kuwait but you would think China has  gone about as far as it can in the SCSea without causing major damage to its Economy and risking a catastrophic (to all sides including its Neighbours) War.
I read on the Internet some years ago that the USA had developed a deep diving Submarine for use around the Marianas Islands and it had the capacity to carry 10 times(or more) ICBM of a normal Sub.It sole job is to launch missiles then sit on the seabed until the next round of Targets are programmed.

Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Yeah, the Marianas Sub.,if it exists which i'm sure it does in one form or another, sole purpose is to turn China and/or North Korea into glass.
