cloudy on sunset here too
should have set up my telescope (just a hobby one nothing special)
dark/rainy sky - but very bright moon - is looking fairly large up there in the sky tonight
took these pics at about 11.20 pm

"Technically the fullest part of the full moon (when the moon is 100% illuminated) happens at 12:53am tonight... which is actually tomorrow!"

Just taken a squiz outside, 2350hrsEST and clear skies in Melbourne and a very bright moon but doesn't look any bigger.

Must have taken a slimming pill or something.

Finally managed to catch a glimpse of it in small breaks in the cloud just after midnight.

Great pics RG nice and round , technically yes it was after midnight that it was at it's biggest but visually naked eye it was at its best after sunset:good:

Always looks bigger low to the horizon because of diffraction through the atmosphere -acts like a magnifying glass.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Yes. To me the moon was much brighter than normal, but any appearance of being bigger was minimal.
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!
