Well we went yesterday for the last MYO of 2012 - the RAM had the usual raffle ticket handouts and the winner was the very first ticket issued B1 and it was won by the 13 year old boy (and his fmaily - from Sydney) who has also been parked outside the RAM main entrance door since last Friday night.

Today we wandered down TOO LATE to be inthe first 100 ... boo hoo

The line was very long so we were about 50 out!!

We didn't stick around for the official presentation as the main foyer would have been packed

So we will probably go back down this afternoon

Yes, it is the 'holey dollar and dump' 200th anniversary as an ? aussie coin

Another new years day MYO bites the dust!

ps
word on the decimal collector street is the 2011 ten cent is going to become 'scarce' as there has only been 1.6 or so million made

so, yesterday the decimal collectors from our local coin club were lining up at the RAM store buying up big on the 2011 mint sets that they have left, and not many at that!

And they had the bacon and egg brekkie and a groovy jazz band - looked like a college band

Hey Robbiegal, do you reckon you could edit/modify this post and remove all the duplication, or would you prefer one of the mods to do it?

Here is a snap of the framed 2012 final MYO coin - the lad's father held the frame for me to take the pic
So this family now has the last MYO for 2012 and the first for 2013
The young lad is wrapped of course after camping out for 4 nights at the RAM
Just did some edits to make the pictures smaller - sorry - it's taking a bit to get used to using this forum!

The newly decorated presses yesterday - complete with Christmas tree that was still there today!

Apparently the framer offers all winners $500 for their coin. He said that no one has ever accepted! And young Harley also clearly said no!! I am sure that the offers would be coming in hard and fast. The general chatter today was that they are worth about $1,000 but I don't really know muyself.

Here's the ABC News story with pics about the winner of today's coin (this family of 6 were the first ones to mint the coins)
