There was an auction house called Sold.com that Ebay bought & then closed down.
I found this item which was one of the last items ever purchased on Sold.com, I won this two days before it was closed down.
Not a bad price for 20 unc 64 half pennies.
Not a bad user name for that matter
A good auction site at the time.

At 40 cents each I reckon you got a good deal. But thinking of it another way; at 40 cents that's 80 times their face , which is about double the rate of inflation since 1964 :yahoo:. Sounds like a win, win (damn I hate that term, but that's another story). So who said keeping your money in the mattress doesn't pay? Just make sure it's only UNC coins we put there :)
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

Mister T

I don't remember it but I think it was advertised on a lot of Australian Coin Reviews at the time.

I sold a box full of 1990's PC games on Sold.com.au just before it closed down.

That was a great site .... I hoped a replacement site popped up as opposition to greedBay. Oz Auctions tried I know they changed the name back a bit but not even sure if that still exists. Of note, greedBay owns gumtree which is at best hosts too many dumped stolen items for my liking :dodgy:

Yeah, its scam city at the moment, young welfare types spending all day dreaming up new cons along with the Pro.'s that seem to concentrate on Phones & Laptops.
Police just do not have the resources  to chase up the hundreds of complaints, the only reason they got the guys selling stolen Mag. wheels last year was a Police Officer saw his wheels & tyres for sale a few Months after they were stolen from his road car.
Ebay isn't much better at the moment,i've never seen so many misrepresented Coins, fake Coins and just plain fraud, shame.

Yep Basil I hear you and eBay are a total disgrace the way they host the frauds yet make it near impossible to report items
