Your url needs needs to look like this {url=address}text to display{/url} except use square brackets instead of curly brackets.
If you have the wanted site open in another tab the address can be cut and pasted from the browser address bar.
There's an example here and a list of Bulletin Board (forum) codes here.
I am not sure if all possible codes are (fully) implemented in this forum.
