Here is a quick mock up version, apparently there is a coloured one and a plain one, it is guessed that the plain one may be for circulation.

Anyway don’t know how they are going to fit it all on one coin cos I had trouble shrinking it all down and didn’t have space for the inscriptions.

2012 Remembrance Day $2 Copper Aluminium and Nickel Coin

Reverse

A central circle containing a representation of a poppy flower superimposed on the words ‘REMEMBRANCE DAY’ repeated and presented in 11 rows as well as the words ‘LEST WE FORGET’ in inverse order, repeated and presented in 11 rows. The design includes two representations of a poppy flower and the inscriptions ‘TWO DOLLARS’ and ‘REMEMBRANCE’.

Obverse

Consistent with all Australian legal tender coinage, an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will appear on the obverse side of the coin together with the inscriptions ‘ELIZABETH II’, ‘AUSTRALIA 2012’ and the initials of the designer Ian Rank-Broadley ‘IRB’.

It would have made far more sense to do this coin last year.

Don’t know?
They have 24 days left to declare it.
The Royal Australian mint did re-submit a non coloured design not long ago.
Obviously every year they release something, but usually it’s the 20c series, last year they had an additional $5 coin.

And if they do announce this design for circulation, you have to wait a while for them to actually release them into circulation.
Only time will tell.

Oh cute, have you seen the Royal Mint version, that’s a nice design to beat!

Finally we have pics of the real thing. This is the version to be sold by RSL's for remembrance day. There's also a non-colourised version for circulation.

And a different lighting angle and you lose the poppy and it looks like dried blood on the coin.

Did anyone else get an invitation to review their product from the Queensland RSL shop? It keep saying down for maintenance for me anyway.

I picked up some from outside of Bunnings this morning from the RSL stall.
Mine look ok once you pull them off and acetone the glue off it.

I think that underneath the coloured flower is just an extension of the writing. That would mean a different die to the circulation issue which has the flower struck.

I just picked up my security bag of these coins today.
I can't see the reasoning of keeping them in the bag where they can rub and scratch each other.
I will put these into 2x2's or saflips so that they don’t get damaged, They look pretty good and a lot better than the printed ones I have, as far as bagging and glue stains go.
