Re Trouts generous offer of coin, I am a regular reader of this forum and have been for a few years. I get great enjoyment from reading the topics and advice given by experienced coin collectors and to be honest as I am not a quick learner at this stage I don't think I would have anything of interest to contribute to experienced posts. I am sorry that my inability to be a regular poster will affect the generosity of members. this may not be written in the proper manner and for that I an sorry. tezza

Not long after this site was created by Mark in September 2012 there was some discussion regarding the way members can trade and offer freebies.
It wasn't simply admin handing down rules to be obeyed it was done via discussion and was agreed upon by the members at that time.

Accordingly I Must offer my apologies to Mark and the other members for my transgressions in this thread .

Sorry Tezza but I must reneg on my offer of the coin , I will however hold it for you until you reach the required post count.

Hi Tezza
It is a pity that you are regular reader but only have 3 posts
Come out from under that little shy snailshell and let us know that you are around
It's nice to meet the quieter invisible members!!

Not only Tezza is a little quiet.   Many people just join and say nothing.

Come on one and all, pitch in and say your thing and post pictures.

Don't be afraid, no one is going to bite you.

the trouble I find with the forum lately is that only the big guns of coins are on here and only talking about slabbing their coins grading their coins and what they think about , the value in the graded ones
ex  MS 63 TO 69 OR 70 ,   SILVER  AND GOLD WHAT EVER COMES UP LIKE GOLD COINS proofs  and unc coins like pennies and half pennies  64RD ALL ABOUT GRADING YOUR BETTER ONES  , yes that is good , I am happy for you all , no worries , your coins ,  do what you want to do with them , but remember about 85 % of the members on this forum are just the average every day working guys or retired guys on a pension and don't have much money to splash around on coins like some of you big guns , so take it easy for a while and give the small guys a go , they only collect from noodling from their change and the likes , and you guys have them that scared that they are to frightened to talk or ask questions for fear of
embarrassment to them self's . like me , I am not a collector , I just love playing around with coins as my hobby and I buy quite a few and then I sell quite a few also , just a turnover is my go and I am not a investor either , I just like playing around and trading and swapping and selling and buying , as long as it is with coins , I am not out to get rich and I am to old now for investing in more coins .I have 2 safes full that I cant even sell but I just love um to bits , and I come on the forum and say a bit and read all the post every day , but the stories are getting fewer and less inviting every day because by what is spoken about now days and most of it is of no interest to 85 % of the members ..   I would like to add a lot more but I think I have said enough for now , guys open your eyes , cant you see whats happening to the forum slowly , and look for names lately that were on here every day ..now we don't hear from them at all ..  thank you all for reading my note .    ,, kel ,,

Yes, there's not much for casual collectors to comment on any more.

As always you're welcome to take your trading to PM or email, and trade with whoever you like.  I did say that in an earlier post in this thread.

Sorry for continuing to take this off topic Trout.

In response to the posters talking about the forum only being used by the big guns.  Well I haven't read anything here for nearly 48 hours and my unread post list shows the following, 20c with a bad planchet, a RAM survey, "Gold Class Action", noodling finds, birthdays, fair price, ABC Coin Series (x2), Pretty birdie coins, the laugh thread, random pics, the 2014 M ANZAC thread, this for-sale thread, a silver discussion thread, and some talk about Movember.  The Silver thread and the "Gold Class Action" thread are really the only two that I wouldn't call appealing to casual collectors.  So why aren't you lot posting in those other threads? (kudos to SirDave for doing so).

I for one read the forum almost everyday and I look forward to reading 95% of the posts.

Posts that are not of any interest to me I bypass.   That would be the 5% that I don't read.

However, I believe that only a certain amount of information can be put up on any particular coin, banknote/ topic etc before people run out of information to post.

Finds etc are good to post but one can only look at small number of scans of the same coin before that topic becomes "stale".

If many of the junior members or beginners in coin collecting took the time to read the complete forum, then information would be absorbed and more would be posting.

Oops way off topic here but I think some of the above entries had to be said.

For Trout:   A generous offer that I will not be taking up as I am currently looking at two rolls of these 2014 MOR as I type.   Not sure what I will do with the rolls but for the time being, I will tuck them away for safe keeping.

trouts offer sure was generous and I thank him for being so kind with his offering ,remember he only had 10 to start with , and I did not apply to him for one , ( even through I don't have one of my own ) reason being I don't have a solid run of dollar dates and there may be others that are saving for that kind of collection ,
I did not think about the 50 post rule , even though I know it , I just completely forgot about it so other may do the same thing ..
remember we all look and learn ..       ,, kel ,,
