All taken from circulation, so some are better than others

Given that I find my coins in circulation, the chance of finding a proof (let alone a 1980 double bar) is pretty small!
Ill let you all know if I find one though!

From recent memory , someone told me a 1954 sixpence struck with a chrome die sold for thousands as a "proof".:dodgy:
I would imagine this double bar proof is of the same calibre:dodgy:
I cannot imagine for one second that the mint would produce a proof coin with such a flaw.
I have dozens of decimal proof coins and they are absolutly flawless :good:

Mate, I make more mistakes than anyone else I know. I am most certainly not flawless.
Please wait for my rebuttal after you have been cheeky and rude before saying you are sorry.
It is in rather bad form to apologise directly after making an unqualified statement :P

Mister T

I remember reading about the double bar proof sets in an Australasian Coin and Banknote Magazine a while ago but I can't remember which one.

Ozcoins

There are double bar proof sets on ebay, but only 1979 now.
I thought there were also 1980 double bar proofs made as well, buy I could be wrong.

I went and had a search for you and I found this proof pic
I would say it was a 1980 50c :tease:, but I would be just yanking ya chain. :diablo:
It a 1979 50c
Well at leat you know what they look like now.
But would you pay $150 just for the 50c or $180 complete in box.
