Poor old soldier why clean it , the dirt  brings out the detail , i would leave it :scratch_one-s_head:

Nikolce92

Ok all good :)

I just want some old coins that people dont want

robbiegal

the old worn out ones can show up very pretty
here is a 1920 threepence that I have and I reckon it is just lovely

ps found my 1910's too

this one is in a holder and darn darn hard to photo - it is very sea green to the eye but not to my camera!

ps
thanks for asking
I needed to new photos of these coins anyways!

The "pick of the litter" would be the second coin down for me RG :drooling:

There are some rim dings that I would put down to "Bagging" , All the devices look great and it looks like there is plenty of lustre there.
It is also a good strike ( most of these have crap strikes).
I would call it Unc or MS62.
I am certain that Mark and Walter will slap me stupid for that grade But you did ask and that is my honest opinion on this coin Mate :ok:

hey mate
I really value your call on the coin and appreciate your opinion

I bought it as a/unc (from bagging) from my dealer & at the time he said that some others would easily have unc on it

the little one below it is a MS63 and they seem quite similar when I go over them with my x10 geological loupe (that I bought from St Vinnies about 16 years ago!! )

No worries Mate that is MY call on this coin.
I honestly cannot see any wear on that coin that is why I call it Unc/MS, The "Bagging" is what brings it back to the 62 :ok:
I imagine the "Big Fish" will put their grade on this coin eventually :beach:

that's cool

it's good to get other collector's perspectives too

I also value my coin dealers call and it has never let me down after many years of his mentoring, so i'm a happy collector

but sometimes, I buy something like that coin , and later I go, ? what the heck am I doing with this tiny little silver thing that baby's can choke on?

Lovely threepences Robbiegal. I agree with Trout that the second coin is the pick of the litter. Nice nice nice.
