I am going through my usual noodling order and just opened a roll of 20ยข....
'heads'n'tails" and every coin was facing the same way.
Biggest run I can recall ever is 13 in a row but I had 20 heads in a row. Chances of that, if they are actually random, is one in 1,048,576.

I have never been able to break myself from the habit of counting the coins out. Can put that aside for a few minutes but, it creeps back!
Anyway, didn't need to count these.

great jeff , top score , well done ..  ,, kel ,,
take care because we care ..

Whoops! I calculated the odds of getting 20 in a row with the same face up.
It should actually be the chance of getting nineteen that match the first one. That is 1 in 524,288.

I was thinking you might have made that mistake in calculating. I was about to check.

If you know enough to work out the probability of getting 20 coins the same way up correctly then you should know that winning the lotto is independent of the way round the coins in your roll are

Do it Jeff :yahoo: ...... there has to be a perfect correlation between coin drawing and powerball numbers. I just looked and tonights draw is draw 888 ....... oooooooo ...... now that may be a rucky number!!!

PS: The perfect correlation is that both are purely random. :dance2:
