Have you tried using a scanner with maximum dpi and minimum area for scanning.   That's how I do all my coins.

DPI=Dot Per Inch.   It is a term used for the clarity of one scanner.   The higher the reolution, (DPI), the larger the scan with much more clarity.

Here are examples:   The first piscan done at 1200dpi, then 400 dpi then 50 dpi:

Potential double plus.

To load Higher Def pictures you need to use
an online image site.
For casual use TinyPic or Photobucket.

Your image will look better than this resized job.

AJ you are getting there.
Try using a plain background.
A textured background is to be avoided.
White and Light grey are neutral
Light Blue can increase colour perception on copper
Black can increase the perceived contrast.

Same coin, same lighting and same camera:-
Clear Acrylic
White/Grey
Blue
Black

looks best to me on the acrylic background
nice coin too

To attach a photo image to post
(Limit size to 200kb I think)

1 At bottom of Reply Screen : Browse for file on your PC

2. Add Attachment

For Larger Images you will need a online image host.

Thanks FP, I tried to attach one on a post and it didn't work. Should the picture show up on page before posting ?? Oh LOL I just checked the image it is 201 kb. How close is that. I will resize it and try again.

Using "The Attachment" method does not give a preview,
from memory a little red X appears.

Most of the users on here that use this method seem to
utilise images no larger than 100kb.

Nevol, thanks for showing us Tinypic, it made it alot easier to upload on here but I still need to figure out the resizing side of things..

Thanks AusJack for pointing me to this post..
