I could go tomorrow, but of a drive from Sydney.

But is it really worth it for the coin swap?  Most of those 42 coins I don't recognise as being highly desirable.  I'm not exactly a follower of the coloured $2 coins though, so I could be wrong there.

I'll probably drive in to do a few mint your own's though in the coming weeks.  That could be fun.

Migrate to whatever is most supported, that's what I say.

Until something else becomes more supported.

Thanks Mark for all of the time and effort that you have put into the forum.

I remember when the last one went tits-up and you put your hand up to start a new one.

Has been a brilliant ride.  Maybe something could be set up on Facebook just for us?

Yay I say, bring it on all around the world to all Mints. May special coins be just that, special.  Not this months releases.

Pacckboxitis, making the packaging worth just as much as the coin itself is not something that I like much.

But that is just me, many may disagree.

Is it me, or does the video get blurry after a minute?

Yes I am very pleased. Even though I chewed through a lot of mint sets and probably devalued the total price, I'm really pleased with the outcome.

It might be just you with the bluryness. I went back and looked at it and it seemed to be fine to me.  Happy to be proven otherwise, my eyes are getting older!

After decades of buying, and then doing nothing, and then buying again - my Queen Elizabeth II decimal album is finally complete.

I started in the year 2000, which seems a very, very long time ago.

I attempted to use the coin that circulated as much as possible. This usually meant buying the mint set and using the standard coins from this, and then getting the other normal circulating coin from a mint roll, mint bag, circulation, PNC or anywhere where it could be found.

Some coins I put in as an example of what is also out there. A coloured 50 cent, a specimen 20 cent, gold 1 and 2 cents, silver 1 and 2 cents.

After that I mounted them all into an album and then used sticky notes to write some interesting information about either the year or decimal coins in general. Sticky notes so they can be updated or changed if desired.

If you interested, take a look.  Personally I'm really pleased with it.

Quote from: 'Tanecoins' pid='130929' dateline='1781007331'Has the mint realised that people are getting sick of the more Juvenile themes.

I hear you.  Although, I also think that if these young kids can get interested in collecting coins, then there is a chance that some of them will develop into true collectors.

I'm hoping that it going to be good for coin collectors overall, even if we don't collect them.

Ah the memories.

Being a Kiwi I grew up in NZ and remember these coins fondly.  And yes, you could buy a lot in the 80's with 50 cents.  I remember that we still had quarter cent lollies back then, although they tasted not the best.  The half cent lollies were much nicer and the full cent lollies were pretty supreme.

My grandma used to give me dollar bills for my birthday because she knew that I liked them.  Of course, it never occurred to me to start collecting until I was 33 and living in Australia so my chance to be a collector over there was long gone.

i was the one who used to pull the metal strip out of the notes just for fun.  Looking back at it that was not a nice thing to do.
