Posted before but a friend managed the local TAB and kept coins for me,amazing what NCLT turned up over the years.

Also UNC early decimals, people must keep/store them and spend when funds are low.

Quote from: 'frenc11' pid='131136' dateline='1787662500'i cant believe there are recalcitrant
dealers out there who dont believe in slabs

Old guard think its just a rip off for consumers, extra cost is not warranted in many cases.

I think slabs are a good way of preserving a Coin in the era of Chinese fakes but we need a Oz. based PCGS/NGC to lower costs.

Good to see you posting Fred.

Also if you are in contact with Neale tell him i've thrown a Pic. up of this overdate.TIA.

He contacted me to see what Info. i had on this 'wide ornament' O/D a few years back on the US Forum.

Quote from: 'Triggersmob' pid='131116' dateline='1787171876'Thank you Terry, and Sir Krash.

..and from me,best wishes to Mark as well, thanks for keeping the Forum active over the past decade + .

All the Oz. Coin Forums in the late 1990's,early 2000's crashed after a year or so or were absorbed into the Stamp section.

Yes Auto,slight tilt there,i haven't heard/seen them called 'tilted 4 overdate' however,live and learn.

Quote from: 'pra666' pid='131111' dateline='1787051869'Basilstate, what concerns me here is that the underlying second 3 from the 1933 dated die would be in a different position for the normal overdate and the new one you are showing. I'd love to see a really high magnification pic of your "tilted 4 overdate".

Ok,leave it with me and i'll try and get some better microscope Pics.,probably on W/end.

These Coins were discussed in the 1960's when a couple of researchers stated(in writing) that the wide ornament O/D didn't exist. Long time ago but IIRC the wide ornament was a different Die,the date was in the same position but the ornament was wider and only a handful of overdates existed at that time.

I'll throw these Pics. up for future reference now the Forum looks like being saved.

1934 'wide ornament' 3d overdate,very rare,i've seen about 3 in 50 years of collecting.

99% of overdates are the 'close ornament' types.

This is the normal overdate for 1934 3d,'ornament' close to 4.

Quote from: 'markn' pid='131106' dateline='1787005045'TKO-100, the admin from KOTCT has emailed me and offered to take over this forum.  We'll work through the logistics of doing so and keep you updated.  There will most likely be a few days where it's unavailable but hopefully it will be back on a new server!  I'll keep you updated.

Great News, shame to see it fold after all these years. :yahoo:

I have come across a rare 3d so will throw up some Pics. for future reference now there is a good chance of the Forum continuing.

Yes,thanks for keeping it going over the last years, none of the Oz. Coin Forums from the the early 2000's lasted long.

Lets hope someone takes it on and keeps it running.

AtB to you both.

Quote from: 'jens coins' pid='131027' dateline='1783215481'Its free to sell on eBay, but you have to purchase your postage label thru eBay

I know they have discounted postage rates but I haven't looked into it.
I doubt they can force you to use their labels. You just have to have proof of delivery.

Not sure with Coins /Notes,sold a couple of Coins last week and used my own pre-paid envelopes so see what happens in the future.

Quote from: 'WavyTwenty' pid='130877' dateline='1777422415'Indeed all the best for them.

This forum started in 2012 so It's been running for a long time now.  Always enjoy it.

Yes,its lasted well, there were several Coin/Stamp Forums started in Oz. in the late 1990's,early 2000 but none/few lasted long.
