Hi Graham, I'll post scans of them for you when I receive them.

Hi also Goldseeker, I never saw them advertised either, they just appeared on the Australia Post website, here's the link: http://shop.auspost.com.au/collectables/impressions/sport/olympics/sku/0310359

I was PNC-Collector on the old forum, just dropped the dash in my username this time. It took me 4 months to join as I kept on trying to log onto the old site with no success. At least there are heaps of new topics I can catch up on, not many PNC threads though - come on guys and gals I can't be the only person interested in PNC's!

This PNC collection contains seven gold medal winning PNC's (Yes offical Australia Post Issue). PNC's are individually numbered (limited edition of 1,000). Information on the winning medal is also included in the PNC collection folder. Now the bad news - the collection costs $159.95 (around $23 per cover) and is only sold by Australia Post "Impressions".

I like the theme, and am now very thankful Australia didn't win 30 Gold Medals at the 2012 London Olympics!

I have ordered a set, and can post scans of the PNC's when I get them if anyone is interested in viewing them?

Quote from: 'Cruzi' pid='4324' dateline='1354570597'From memory there are a few private issues around from that period, a few "people" were trying to cash in on PNC popularity a of the time.

This is an overseas issue by Mercury with a limited edition of 500.  Typically each of their PNC production runs go into the 10's of thousands and they've been around much longer than Australia Post have been making PNC's for. I have included a couple scans of other PNC's by Mercury that are popular with Australian collectors, Royal themes are common with Mercury.

Cheers, PNC Collector

Quote from: 'Australian coin' pid='4328' dateline='1354576010'O, it’s a privately issued one.
I was scratching my head going what?

I have seen $2 poppy ones on the bay

if you look at the sellers completed items, they produce a few different things.

I really like those PNC's that you have highlighted, they are bright and original with a great theme plus the coin matches the theme.

I personally only dislike the ebay sellers that just add a coin in an Australia Post FDC to create their PNC's or those that overprint Australia Post PNC issues and sell them as limited edition rarities.

Thanks! Wow - I must one of the few that still collect them. I have quite a large PNC collection, and would love to hear more discussion about them, that way PNC's might even get their own section.

Quote from: 'dreamcatcher' pid='4307' dateline='1354520123'Hi guys. As I'm sure you all know, the red 2002 Accession PNC is one of the most sought after PNCs and usually sells for around $200.

But have you seen the other even scarcer 2002 Accession PNC with the solid silver 50 cent coin??

These are almost never seen and I suspect very few Australian collectors have one. I have attached a picture.

Cheers

Dreamcatcher

This PNC was made by Mercury of the UK and is part of the Westminster Collection "The Golden Jubilee Luxury Coin Cover Collection" (only silver coins used) with an Edition Limit of only 500 (see attached scan of back of PNC's carded sleeve). The Australian 2002 Accession PNC is also included in their standard Golden Jubilee Coin Cover Collection (see attached scan). I guess if you only call Australia/Royal Mail genuine PNC's then Mercury would probably be the largest private manufacturer of PNC's in the world.  This stunning PNC is a proud part of my collection!
