Will you be letting any of the plain ones go?

I have 3 bags and 1 broken down bag in 2x2's but I believe I will  be holding on to them for a few years yet. I have a few mates that own retail stores so I will keep an eye out for you.

Coin and Banknote Grading / RE: Proof $1 1988
January 17, 2013, 11:49:57 AM
Yes it is the Bicentenary coin. Graham is right in what he has said. It is really hard to get a decent representation of what I am trying to refer too. I do not have a super camera to take the shots but I will ask a family member who does. Thanks for the replies so far.

I managed to get some better shots:

Coin and Banknote Grading / Proof $1 1988
January 17, 2013, 11:20:09 AM
Hi,

I recieved a proof $1 from a seller on ebay and it seems to have imperfections.

I have attached the best scan I can but it doesnt truely represent what you see with the naked eye. On pretty much all writing on the back it appears to be smudged upwards with dark areas.

I will try to get a better pic but this is what I have for now

I picked up 2 of the PNC's today.

I think I might dismantle one to SAFlip it and keep the other in the PNC. Any suggestions or ideas :)

You need to post a few things first,

Why did you change from vista to 7?
What is it causing issues with?
Did you do a clean install of Windows 7, install over Vista or use the upgrade from Microsoft?
What are the specs of your machine?

Give me that info and I will try and help you.

Thanks

Chin Wag / RE: eBay Name and Shame?

Although I understand the concern, especially with the one side of the argument bit. In my case it is crystal clear, I can't lie about the postage (or the so called defamation) as it is all listed clearly by ebay. Purchased on the 29th/12, shipped (apparently) on the 7/1, really shipped on the 10/1, recieved 15/1.

The information about their handling time is added by each seller. It is a pretty clear cut case and the only thing that would be up for discussion would be the messages. I am happy to screenshot them all but I don't want to go down that path.

All I was trying to do is keep people safe and not turn this into a poop slinging match, however as on most forums there is always negative people that offer no real insight. Markn I can appreciate your need to remove the names and I do thank you for atleast giving it a go :)

Mine is '************'

I purchased 2 sets of Unc $1 coins and a $1 proof on the 29th December 2012.

I asked for combined postage which was all ok and I paid for the coins as soon as I recieved the updated invoice.

Everything is going fine at this stage. I ask when shipping will likely occur and I was told just after new years (no issues being the crazy time of year).

On the 5th of Jan 2013 after hearing nothing from the seller I decide to ask her whats going on and I get this reply:

'Hi

It was paid on the 29th December 2012. The Business days/Postal Office open days have only been 2nd, 3rd and 4th January since you paid. I will be posting it on Monday.'

Next the 7th rolls around and I get this message:

'Bare with me- I have misplaced the 1988 Kangaroo Mint- will hunt further today- it will show up!!!!! If I can't find it I will send your current parcel with roo to follow :-)'

I replied with ok thanks for letting me know

I get this in return:

'Hi

I still can't find the mint 1988 Kangaroo

Can I tempt you with a 1988 $1 proof as replacement if it remains elusive?

Cheers'

That last message is very important. As I didn't ask or berate for that message, however it is alleged that I have been later on.

Obviously I accept the coin as it is worth more.

It is at this point the parcel is marked as 'Shipped' (7th Jan)

On the 10th of Jan I check the Tracking number I was sent to see that the parcel has just been accepted at the sellers local Post Office, 3 days after the alleged sending of the parcel. If you go back you can clearly see that she states previously that she would send the parcel on the 7th. She did not.

I await my parcel now which arrived yesterday on the 15th. I check everything and to their credit it was packaged really well. I then notice the proof coin I ordered (not the replacement) is missing. Being that it is late I left replying until today.

After contacting the seller I get a few different excuses but she states she will refund the coin. I was unhappy at this solution and wanted the coin I paid for. Unfortunately this wasn't going to happen so I asked for my refund. Which I promptly got.

This is where it gets a little wierd. Not only have I been lied to the whole time during this transaction I come to learn she has been pulling the same stunts with another ebay member.

These are the watered down replies:

Me: Hi,

I recieved my coins yesterday and unpacked them all today.

I have all my coins apart from this one. Could you please explain to me why this is?

Thanks

Seller: Hi

My records show I ticked it off and packed it. Could you count up your coins and double check the peace coin in the sets-They sometimes get confused. Let me know as I repacked your box 3 times and checked because of the missing Roo which was driving me to distraction trying to find.

If it is still missing let me know. Let me know also if you intend bidding on anything currently as I can slip a replacement in with that mail. Otherwise I will need to send a replacement.

Thanks

Seller again (before I had a chance to reply): Hi

If it is still missing I will just give a refund. Okay

Cheers

****Now according to the ebay chap I spoke to this is very suspect****

Me:
I have triple checked everything.

All the coins I recieved are in 2 x 2 Adhesive holders or 2 x 2 Staple holders.

Your add clearly states:

AUSTRALIA 1986

INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF PEACE $1

PROOF

in HOLDER with Gold Pouch

The photo shows the coin to be in a clear perspex container with a blue background.

Thanks

Seller: Hi

So is the coin missing or just the gold pouch? Or did you expect to receive the coin in perspex?

The photo was taken through the perspex of the proof set. The coin will be in a holder- can you count how many holders you have?

let me know. I can't understand why I checked it off. I will issue a refund if it isn't there as I do not have another available of this coin.

Thanks

Me:Hi,

I think I have been fair in relation to the delays and missing coins (this one and the replaced unc).

I would much rather have the coin that I purchased rather than a refund.

You claim you posted the coins on the 7th of January 2013, we both know that this is incorrect. You sent the coin on the 10th Jan 2013 as indicated by both the time/date stamp on the parcel (which is issued when you actually pay and post the item) and also by the tracking number which you supplied.

I am unsure as to what the delay was as your communications in relation to the postage was false. I paid and purchased this item on the 29/12/2012, nearly 20 days ago. Your add stated postage 'Will usually post within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment'. Due to the time of year I could understand the coins not being sent to the 2nd or 3rd of January but to leave me until the 10th of Jan is poor form on your behalf.

I do not want to leave bad feedback and hurt your score, I just want what I paid for and I will be happy. I will leave the ball in your court.

Thank you.

Seller: Hi

When I pack the coins I mark them posted so I know what I have left to pack on eBay. I put these parcels in the local post box near my home - that means they are not scanned until they hit the central post office after collection by the mail truck hence the delay in them being on the system. Sometimes these articles do not get scanned until they hit the mainland- that does not mean I sent them on the mainland but it is the first time they get scanned by a post office. I believe this depends on which route the mail truck takes and which port the freight boat leaves from. The Central Post office is on the other side of the water and the freight boats that take the mail can leave from either side. If it leaves from the central post office side, my parcels are logged on the computer system in Devonport Tasmania. If the boat leaves my side, they do not get logged untill they hit the city of destination.

You also stated you paid for the coins on the 29th December which is a Saturday. The 31st December 2012 and 1st of January 2013 was a Post Office Holiday in Tasmania. Then we had the Devonport Cup (horse racing)- also a holiday.

As I stated I could not find the 1988 Mint set roo and I spent some time searching for it. I informed you. I offered replacement of that coin. The 1988 mint roo is a $5 retail and catalogue value. Your replacement is a $15 Catalogue and retail value 1988 $1 Roo Proof Coin. That was a $10 compensation for the delays as I spent time finding the original coin, which showed up two days after I posted your parcel and which I also offered to you in the event you did not want the proof coin.

You may choose to be careful of claiming my communications are false. You may say "I allege your communications are false..." but the way you have said it could actually cause you trouble in your future communications with other people. At law it is classed as possible defamation. I know this as I am doing my post graduate law degree- ny Juris Doctor. So I say it in kindness if you are angruy about something someone has done just say "I allege your communications are false ...."

I am happy to give a full refund on your entire order. Just follow the returns directions on eBay and send the coins back. It seems the holiday delays and the lost coin delay and the $15 replacement coin have not been adequate and a refund for the order is more in order.

I am still unclear if you received the correct number of coins in holders as it appears you are suggesting the peace proof $1 1986 comes in a perspex case- it does not. It is in a holder. It is possible I did not put the gold pouch in as I packed all your coins in bubble wrap layers in an empty plastic Ferrero Rocher Case inside your box for extra protection. Could you let me know the precise number of peace coins and coins in holders you have received.

Thank you

****At this point I am thinking apparent post grad law student has no clue what defamation means. All the evidence I used clearly shows she is lying about the postage date****

It gets real nasty from this point on and I will not relay any further messages. It took 3 phone calls and a warning from ebay for this member to stop messaging me. She dropped to the level of calling me a homosexual and that I love to kiss my boyfriends. For what reason I do not know but this is the kind of person you are dealing with.

Quote from: 'ChrisM' pid='6440' dateline='1358300557'Can we have a thread that allows us to name and shame bad sellers on ebay?

I have just had a pig of a time with a seller who gave me the run about for nearly 2.5 weeks.

I just want to keep it safe for us and help weed out the bad ones.

Obviously this could meet with some negative views but if we provide evidence would that be enough?

Thanks

You have started a thread in this section, that should do it :good:
start naming :diablo:

:)

Only being new here I do not want to ruffle feathers. I would like a mod or admins approval. I mean this would have to be strictly monitored but proof such as messages and pictures should back up the posters claims.
