I have finally cancelled my subscription to the magazine Australian coin review, after a lot of years the April edition is my last
as you know the only way you can get the mag in hard copy is to subscribe, it is also available online but you still have to subscribe.
It was mainly full of stories I, personally had no interest in, I could read the entire mag in 15 minutes
Articles like, Letters to the editor are no longer published nor is what's wrong with this or what is this coin etc

BUT there is a very good story about Counter struck, Mintmarks & Privy mark on one-dollar coins, the how & why they started plus a full comprehensive list

I can imagine that with the very high cost of printing that hard copies of this mag might disappear like so many various magazines over the last few years have
or maybe it will just be available online for a reduced subscription fee.
It's the end of an era for me, I used to look forward to its delivery every month then not so much

Sad about Bruce, my best wishes for his family.
As a collector he was the ultimate completest if there was a set he had to have them all if he could get the same number WOW that was his nirvana.
I don't think there is anyone who had more mules that Bruce, he told me of the 1,000's of dollars he noodled at the casino & how the staff were on the lookout for him as well.
I swapped numerous coins with him in the early days, would get him coins from Sydney shows or the Royal Easter show, he had a thing about packaging & had to have at least two of every kind of packaging if there were different colours of the same thing he had to have them.
I sort of likened him to Scrooge McDuck where he had a whole room chock a block full of coins & no room foe anything else.
Bruce will be missed.

Chin Wag / RE: Covid 19

There is a guy who lives behind me & he is one of these conspiracy theorists, refuses to wear a mask believes that covid19 is no worse than the flu.
& it's just a Govt thing, my eyes glaze over when he goes off in one of his rants, absolutely refuses to listen to anything other than his own views
Of course he gets all his information from FACEBOOK, believe that?
In 5 years the people who have had AZ vaccine are all going to die,
masks are no good as they give you covid because you keep breathing in the germs.
The list goes on & on, but one of the many thing I find amusing is they all seem to have the same conspiracy theory
what about the people who had magnets placed over where they had gotten their injections so it would remove the tracking device they had just been injected with
tracking device???? yes a tiny tracking device is in the vaccine.  ("I don't won't big brother tracking me!) huh? doesn't matter about their phone, watch, tablet or computer,
nah it's this tracking device in my arm.
you can't legislate against stupidity
some people are born stupid
some people strive for stupidity
some have stupidity thrust upon in the form of facebook, twitter or ticktok.

Morrison wasted a huge covid advantage we had.
we could have all been vaccinated by now with Pfizer vaccine
his penny pinching concentrating on the AZ vaccine not building fit for purpose quarantine sites (WE had them in 1918 when the spanish flu was killing millions)
his refusal to but enough vaccines,
 October the Pfizer arrives?
the elderly & most vulnerable are still not vaccinated, can you believe that?

Morrison has saved his own life with short supply Pfizer, but is telling Australians to ignore the medical advice about AZ while indemnifying himself & doctors
 Just Let that sink in.

Lets all do the right thing wear our masks, socially distance, get our vaccines & hopefully we will beat this thing we have done well thanks to our state leaders
& the everyday Aussies who always do the right thing

just hope it doesn't get worse

Quote from: 'Goldseeker' pid='125030' dateline='1624183250'The laptop I am using at present is a Acer, AMD Quad Core processor AB-7100 with Turbo CORE Technology up to 3.0 Ghz, AMD Radeon R7 M265 with 2GB dedicated RAM, 4GB DDR3 L Memory and 1000GB HDD.

Now with all that what used to take 10-12 minutes on my now defunct desktop now takes 54 minutes on this laptop.

This laptop is painfully slow.

Even booting up takes around eight minutes just to get to my desktop.

I have several slot machines to go through each night and morning and they are taking the time.

The reels on these machines turn very jaggedly and I wonder why I still persist in playing them.

Any help to speed it up would be appreciated.
TRY THIS:  windows 10

bottom left hand corner type,
task manager, click on that

a window will pop up, look for
start up,
click on start up, this shows you what programs your comp is loading at start up,

( your comp is loading up all these programs before you do anything,
you don't need those programs at start up, when you want them you click on them)

once you are in start up,
Disable all those programs, (only in start up)

reboot, it should start  faster.

Coin Chit Chat / RE: Cashless society by 2020??
June 19, 2021, 11:16:59 PM
Will Age Pensioners be Forced onto the Cashless Debit Card?

There is also a lot of talk as to whether Ann Rushton a LNP Minister is laying the ground work for the INDUE CARD
where 80% of payment will have to be spent where the Gov says you can spent it.
No more noodling if this happens.

Quote from: 'seedyrom' pid='124817' dateline='1621552464'I know you guys love my videos. You can't convince me otherwise.

Here are the "floating" display holders. Just watch it to kill some time when you are on the toilet.

https://youtu.be/IJz4rmIC0CY

So what do you do with them after you put the coins in?
Doesn't look like you can hang them
just put them back in their box?
Poor William, just hope you have a short name for them to work.

Australian Decimal NCLT / RE: ACDC again
October 10, 2020, 10:22:58 PM
I just counted on Ebay 65 of the AC/DC Seven Coin Collection BIN or auction.

Maybe not as popular as the Fifty cent piece, maybe the 30,000 mintage has something to do with it?

We have been so lucky here in Australia,

a huge shout out to all the people living in Victoria it must have been hard these last few months with only 11 new cases today a remarkable effort

Thank all of you who have done the right thing, the rest of Australia applauds you.

Thanks folks for all your Birthday wishes.
9/11 is not such a bad day to have a birthday I'll tell ya whats a
worse day, 2 years ago today on my birthday I started having chemotherapy & radiation for cancer
now that's a shit day.
So here I am after a big operation, in recovery,
I look at the guy next to me & I say, "Rob"
He turns his head & slowly say's, "Tony"
10 minutes later I look at him & say "Cancer"
He opens his eyes looks at me & say's, "Virgo"
