You should be able to upload attachments to your posts without difficulty in the forum Reply editor.  You don't need to know image dims or file size.  I've removed most restrictions on file size, we're running a mod that will resize files automatically.  The gallery works differently, it's a separate application and not part of the SMF forum.  If you're having problems uploading images to the gallery post the details here and I'll look into it.

I've installed a mod that resizes post attachments to 750x750px if they're larger than that, and rotates them to correct orientation if they're posted from a phone sideways.  File size of upload is now unlimited, you can attach a huge image file and it will be resized.  750x750 can be made larger or smaller.

This does not affect images uploaded to gallery.

As you can see, member avatars did not carry over from MyBB.  You can upload your avatar in -

  Profile > Look and Layout > Upload an avatar

Ok, the Coppermine gallery has been updated to current version and bridged to the converted SMF forum.  There were a lot of problems doing this, but everything seems to be working correctly.  The gallery should work like it did with MyBB, all members' albums and images should be there.  Any feedback would be helpful.  If you're having problems with login clear your browser history.

As you can see, we're in the process of upgrading ACF to newer (and better) software.  The database has been converted from MyBB to SMF, the conversion completed without errors.  I've cobbled together a quick custom theme, has a few bugs but looks and works ok for now.  All members, posts, and images should be here.  Haven't gotten the gallery working yet, it was bridged to the MyBB install, will work on that.

Made the base font larger.  I always use 120% zoom, have poor vision so it's difficult to judge how others see it.

After much mucking around over several days (and nights), I've managed to convert the ACF MyBB forum to SMF (you can read about it here).  It's running here.  Not the current database, it's the dump from when we migrated to Crocweb.  Would have to do it again (not easily) to get it up to date.  Admins and members should be able to log in as usual and have a look around.  It's running the default theme, we can do a custom theme if wanted. Anything you do there will not affect this production forum.  Converting to SMF will clean things up moving forward and facilitate support.

Took a look at this forum on a tab last night while reading, was surprised to see this theme is not responsive.  Neither is the default theme in current 1.8.40 version.  When viewed on mobile device it doesn't reformat, it's just much smaller and difficult to see.  This will cost ACF potential members who access the forum with tablets or phones, and will cause the site to be downranked by search engines.  I'm more inclined now to converting to SMF.  Soon as I have time I'll clone the forum and try the conversion.  If it works you can all try it before we do anything to the production forum.

I've subscribed to this thread, any suggestions regarding the structure or formatting of this forum would be welcome.  We are debating converting from MyBB to SMF, basically to facilitate support going forward.  We have two custom themes running at KOTCT, if you're a registered member you can view both of them and get an idea how SMF looks and works.
