I see that the 1977 coat of arms reverse 50 cent mule coin and the 1988 coat of arms reverse 50 cent mule coin are not mentioned in the 20th edition. They were on the bottom of page 134 in the 19th edition. Is this an oversight or is there a reason for omitting these coins? An example of the 1977 coat of arms reverse 50 cent mule coin sold at auction in the last weeks for $15,500 plus commission.  Perhaps I am just looking in the wrong part of the book.

Listing has been ended by the seller.

I would be interested to hear members thoughts on this latest Ebay error listing.  I know what mine are and they are not good.

Nice coin, as to value it only takes a couple of keen bidders and the sky is the limit. I have seen a similar coin go for over $700 on ebay a few years ago. You see them very rarely.

As I recall, they went away from the round 50 cent coins because at the time some senior citizens were mistaking them for 20 cent coins.

I must be missing it. Mine is like this:

After seeing all of the logos up there I would like to change my vote. Is this possible?

Double strike in collar with X degrees rotation.  X is the amount of rotation of the coin in degrees between the first and second strikes.

It is one of my favourite coins. I know of one other five cent that is very similar that is owned by another forum member. I have also seen a two cent sell on ebay. I am still kicking myself for not bidding but I had no money at the time. It went very cheaply because I do not think the seller knew what it was and there were very few bidders.

A five cent struck on an already split planchet.

Had this one penny for some time.

From an error coin collectors perspective I would love to see individual pages dedicated to one type of error only. Some of the error coin threads are already going that way and in my opinion some are too broad. It would be great to be able to see many images of your favourite error type all together, one after another.
