Post by: ken65 on September 25, 2012, 11:07:41 AM
gday all, as a part time seller on the bay,i usually only list on a tuesday night, anyway my coins finishing tonight are going slower than usuall, thought id have a peek and see if there was much competion around tonight, well  i'll be, its crammed full with buy it nows and so on, ive never seen it so busy, not long ago tuesday night was good for me,nearly everything i listed ran about half an hour with hardly any competition at all, thats the name of the game i guess, wonder if its a sign of the times.

Hi, its always hit and miss on the bay, one week it can be great and the next nothing, its totally random.
I am a regular seller and I believe as long as you take good pictures and have a reasonable ending time you will do fine.
Unfortunately you can only guess what will be a good day and what will be a bad day to sell. I know this week I purposely missed having no items end last night, as it was the ALF Brownlow and Emmys, who in there right mind is paying attention to what’s on fleebay.
Some days you can have 0 watchers and other days you can have 5 or more. The good thing is it only takes one bid.

Maybe you can take a look at your listings and see how you are setting them up, like are they bidding or buy it now. Also how long are they listed for, do you give enough info in the description, do you offer a return policy.

hi, ive been selling for a few years now , my photos are above ave but no where near the quality some members here achieve,i list for a week and 95% of the time they are 99c starts as im keen to sell, tonight there are heaps of buy it nows around my coins that are priced  not to sell but aimed at the new buyer to my reckoning.its clogging up the system  but its a free world, i do offer a return policy and pay for return postage but in a couple of thousand transactions have only had to do the one and that was completely my own fault, anyway fingers crossed and more often than not things do pick up towards the end, but im wondering if all the doom and gloom at the moment is making people a bit nervous with spending?

well i'll be, went and checked listings again and they are not surrounded by all these coins now, im wondering if i had a senior moment or i accidentally hit the wrong search, but i had to get a new pin number today for my eftpos card as i couldnt for the life of me remember it, it was very frustrating to say the least,

On the mint set side of things it has been a relatively quiet few months on Ebay with lower prices being achieved but over the past three weeks or so the number of items being offered appears to have increased a bit. Sale prices have also picked up a little - 60s and early 70s set prices have been pretty good all year but mainly weaker for the rest.

started getting mint and proof sets about 8years ago, but have sold nearly all of them now and like you said they were all newer ones and i think i lost on every set, i remember purchasing my 1st proof set from the mint, the 2004  set with the fancy $1 coin, tried selling it for $49 a few weeks ago ,no interest whatsoever,
