Title: Centenary of the First Commonwealth Banknote Stamp and Coins Cover PNC
Post by: Splock on April 02, 2013, 10:35:52 AM
I'm not a big PNC collector, but I do like numismatic related PNC's and this one (http://www.prospectstampsandcoins.com.au/2013-centenary-of-the-first-commonwealth-banknote-stamp-and-coins-cover-pnc.html) caught my eye in an e-mail from Prospect Stamps & Coins. It's a joint release from the RAM and Perth Mint and the design is beautiful and certainly in keeping with the theme.

Quote from: Prospect Stamps and CoinsThis stamp and coin cover features two coins that have been released by the Royal Australian Mint and the Perth Mint, as well as a copy of the ten shilling banknote.
The coins included with this cover are as follows:
Royal Australian Mint 20c uncirculated coin
Perth Mint $1 Bronze uncirculated coin
along with the coins are two stamps produced by Australia Post which are 60c and $2.60 stamps

I think I might just get this one.

From what I can ascertain the 20 cent coin is from RAM so should be a standard type coin :good: and the $1 is a Perth mint oversize coin :stinker:

hmm, I know you can get it part of the 3 coin packaging too! that's the one I went for cos there essentially the same price, so why not get 3 coins for value, instead of one coin and a token.

https://eshop.ramint.gov.au/2013-Banknotes-Set/310285.aspx

tho they were sold as the 3 coin individual on cards and packaged in an envelope format as a set as such, a quick ebay search you can find people selling them individual if you just want to buy the one coin.

Jeez.. How to turn 90 cents into thirty bucks without really trying... how long before we're paying $100 each for these things I wonder? :(
