Anyone going who could secure me two please.
PM if payment reuired ahead of time.
i'm hoping to mosey on down
i'll see if the parking etc is a hassle
there are big events on that day .. so i'm thinking about it ha ha
a friend did grab me one from the other swap day (i was in melbourne)
it's a nice coin and I'm wondering if it's closer to a specimen strike than a regular business strike
it is quite lusterous
I am a little dissapointed that this swap was not on offer in Perth at the last ANDA show, the RAM was there why not offer the swap or is it just for the eastern states collectors :dash1:

Once again I am blown away by the people on this forum. Thank you. its in PM.
Hi guys,
The coins aren't exactly released just for eastern state collectors
They are being released locally for the Canberra Centenary - so they are just setting up at local events as a part of the celebrations
The girl at the RAM staff today said that the coin is being released into circulation around mid-march, so I reckon the RAM will definately sell the rolls through the mint shop
The coins that we got today were hand picked with bare hands, after being tossed into a cardboard tray - over half the coins are totally chipped and scratched to my disspaointment. Maybe a roll will produce better quality?
Today they only allowed $5 change for $5 coins
whereas the other day, the stall was quieter and the ebayers were in there buying $20 note lots at a time! So I am told, and the ebay listings also might tell that same story.
Today the que was VERY SLOW long and the sun was blistering - no shade to stand in so it was a bit of a drag, people even left the que cause it took so long!
here's some pics from the PP blogg -

thanks
pasted that link PP
wot's this about no more rolls?
r u serious?
read the note here
CHOGM rolls (https://eshop.ramint.gov.au/2011-1-CHOGM-Rolled-Coin/410020.aspx)
I can't recall where else I read it.
Thanks for the pikkies folks.
How many coins do the production presses churn out a minute? No wonder the coins are chipped etc as the coins hit the bin very hard and fast and cause damage immediately after minting.
The coins are not minted as gently as the visitor gallery presses........
I am looking forward to receiving my coins from an ex army mate who secured them for me.
ok
sounds like you got some then
i think there is a keen girl collector here who might be after 1
if she doesn't mind minting scratch and dint!! ha ha
I know I have some but actual numbers are unkown. Will have to wait till the 22/3/22 at least.
