I come to the forum several times a day if not more. Every time I come I just hit "view unread posts". That's fine, but then when I want to go and find a particular thread I don't know where to look!!!! I guess it's really when threads go off topic or when things get posted in categories or areas that aren't quite obviously suited. Then I scratch my head to think where to go next.

Have you tried the
Search function using Keyword?
You know I was just thinking that whilst I was doing the dishes.
How come the other half ain't doing the dishes. Better still, why arn't the rug rats doing them.......?
He cooked, the least I could do was the dishes, tonight anyways. If you have any tricks for getting kids to do anything then I'm all ears.
haha mum used to give us 5c for every item we dried, obviously now its dry them or die!!!!
:mocking: jesus, we were told what to do and when and ya knew what would happen if you didn't and without bribes :blum3: but people are just to soft these days and PC BS has stuffed a lot of things :dash1:
Just tell them, no dishes, not food. It works. Just try it. It worked ffor me and my brother and sister, and I am still doing the dishes today.
As wifey says, my dish washer, I am married to him.
Now after all this time of PC BS and seeing how society is going the old saying just seems so true..spare the rod and spoil the child :diablo:
So before anyone goes to town on me for being a victim of child abuse my self, I don't condone full on fogging like I got but believe we need discipline and ground rules and a smack on the arse doesn't hurt but lets you know you did something that isn't expectable or we end up where we are.
I suppose I sit on the fence a bit. I see some younger people doing remarkable things in education, social life, community spirit and sports. Their effort and dedication is outstanding.
Alternatively I think a lot have embraced the American "victim and compensation" mentality. "You did this to me and you have to pay", "I am entitled to.... so give it to me". There are too many that want to take but give little or nothing in return. I don't think Australia owes them a life. Some lack the motivation to contribute but blame their lack of success on others. There is a lot less of a sense of responsibility now than when I was a youth. I also see a lot more substance (drugs and alcohol) abuse at a much younger age than previously.
Lastly, other than the "me" mentality I worry about the immediate gratification aspect. That is, the attitude of "I'll do what I want to do now and I'll worry about the consequences later". Somehow later on the attitude changes to "I'm not responsible for what I did because...."
I do worry what sort of society I am leaving for my (grown) children and grandchildren.
:heat: it's gettin hot in the kitchen  Well said Steve :good: as most know I'm not very PC but I want to be good :blush2:
I have to agree. Discipline went out the door years ago with all the shocking shows now on tv that influence young kids. One show that does just that is The Simpsons. I will not allow my family watch an ad for this show. When one comes on, I change channels. It is one of poorest and rudest shows on tv.
Many ads one sees on tv are kids asking for something. What happened to the word Thanks.
It is up to us, the present day parent to buck up and control our kids again. I too am wondering what the world is comming to.
I presume I am doing my bit to control kids around me as well as adults, but the abuse one gets is pathetic. Nobody cares these days.
Thank goodness I will not be around in 20 years time to see what the next generation will do.
Too many parents these days don't give a damn as to what their kids are up to whilst they are not in the house. Most probably the parents are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Ban the two of them I think.
