The time has come that Michael and I have decided to stop collecting coins and notes now.

you with the way Aussie coins have been going lately. I am getting closer to edge myself.

What's the plan for the future?
Are you going to hold or sell and use the money for something more exciting?
We will be holding most of our collection. The non interesting spares will sold off over time.

My collecting has dropped off to a trickle. Just concentrating on a very small zone.

It must be a trend Jen - I am sure that Covid changed the landscape for coin collecting - too many people just in it to try and make money. The same thing happened a few years ago with note collecting when NPA went to 10,000,000 notes per prefix from 1,000,000 notes per prefix. Having collected since QE2 became Queen in 1953, I guess 70 years collecting has been worth it, but now it is time to stop. My relatives cannot believe that I am stopping as well - cheers Peter (notcb).
I guess if you get to the point where you aren't getting the enjoyment or simply can't afford it, then that is as good a time as any.
My son has no interest. My wife and daughter some. My daughter mainly for what they are worth.
Hopefully she'll have the good sense not to drop them with a dealer who would be laughing all the way to the bank.
