I hope no one falls for this new con.
Put your money away in digital gold backed by real bars for your children or grandchildren's future and get scammed by The Royal Mint. Invest any amount for 20 years and LOSE 12% as a "holding" fee and that is before you convert it back into real money to use for something else.
Thank you NO, I'll buy my own physical gold and keep it here and pay 0% holding fee.
Thanks very much. (Which is what The Royal Mint will be saying to you if you buy into this nonsense.)
Please be aware that this is The Royal Mint, NOT The Royal Australian Mint.

If I have calculated correctly that's about AU$135 to buy 1 gram of gold. Official price is around $72 per gram.
Perth Mint is selling small gold bars at similar price.
This type of product does not look to be a good investment at all. You are paying a very hefty premium for the presentation.
Click on the "Bullion Gifts" link at the top of that page to view a range of other, similar themed bars.
Definitely better off buying bullion from the right bullion dealers. No need for presentation.
I'm always surprised at people who buy "old" bullion as vintage and pay a premium.
The only old gold I would buy would be rum 'n' raisin. :)
No hidden fees, but lots of unhidden fees. Wow. I'm speechless. If you're a long-term holder, you're totally better off just buying their bullion type sovereigns.

Yes,i've never had the surplus $ to invest, barely enough to keep my pre-dec. collecting going, but i know Dealers over the years that have said the exactly the same thing, the premium the Mints charge over the current gold price for Gold Coins is more than made up for 10 years or more down the track, well usually anyway.
You wouldn't want to be a short term gold investor. You could make or lose a fortune. It is just gambling. But being long term with The Royal Mint, you may as well just post them your money.
