I just got back eight coins I sent in for regrading. Six coins graded the same while two went from MS65 to MS65+. These were all coins in which the numbers on the holders started with 29 or 30. Some of these coins had toned up in their holders. Has anyone else had coins in PCGS holders tone up on them?
Yes,my experience is when a Coin is going off the Slab doesn't stop the process.
I have a 1956 Graded Proof Penny with growing Verdigris, not sure whether to bust it out of the slab or leave it.
PCGS, state that a bronze-copper coin with a RD + RB designation is only good for 10 years..Also i have a penny that i believe is under-graded and am not sure send coin for regrading in the slab or raw...
Undergrading and regrading are a peeve of mine. They supposedly used not one but TWO "experts" in grading to agree on the original grade, so an upgrade shows that either the 2 previous graders got it wrong or there is gradeinflation causing upgrades.
Then there is where they misidentify an uncleaned coin as cleaned. Have a 1956 threepence that came back as cleaned. Only problem is it was from a couple of rolls (not cleaned) and the threepence is superior gem (probably MS67) and as good as my other 1956 MS67s. I'll probably crack it out and resubmit next year.

What about an upgrade due to the coins toning in their holders. That is what happened with the two of mine which upgraded form MS65 to MS65+.

Upgraded from MS65 to MS65+.Where these Bronze,Silver or Gold coins?. Toning can improve the EYE appeal grading points. More so for silver coins..
