Hi guys thank you for adding me :)
I have been noodling for a bit less than a year now.
This week I found this coin. I am not too sure about it so thought I d ask.
I couldnt find anything alike on internet.
Thought I should add the edges :)
Hi Sv3Nn, Your coin has been attacked by somebody with nothing else to do with a tool like a pair of side cutters but nibble away at a coin.
Probably therapy!
Over the years I have seen lots of coins attacked this way.
Pop it into your "odd coin" album.
Cheers, Fred.
:i_agree: with Fred. These are often known as 'shed' jobs.
Keep looking, it won't take long for you to find a real gem worth keeping.
I remember my first error was a 10c with a really good die clash on the obv.
Thanks guys I was wondering I ll keep it as it does look cool.
I am wondering why anyone would do that and back to circulation maybe stress therapy lol.
I'm not sure what he used as the marks doesn't match each other side per their orientation.
I am missing a few coins from the 80s and some federation coin and I'll have all the circulated 20c's.
I was wondering about starting the 5 cents along the way but I'm after a double sided one did you guys ever found one while noodling ?
How about a cold chisel?
Quite common to find coins, mostly $1, with letters or numbers punched on them too. There's a Letter or Number Stamped Into My Dollar Coin (https://www.australian-coins.com/collecting-coins/theres-letter-number-stamped-dollar-coin/)
