On another forum, someone has posted a picture/scan of a 2020 $2 Alum-Br coin with a multi coloured ring surrounding a cricketer who appears to have blocked a ball.
It is a coin that celebrates the Women's T20 World Cup.
Not sure if it is going to be issued through Woolworths or general circulation.
Another coin to keep ones eye open for.
Thanks for the heads up Goldie.
Just saw this image on Facebook.
Found in circulation apparently.

Does anyone know the official release date and how they are going to be circulated?

According to the coin determinations on the Federal Register this particular coin is listed in the ''non-circulating coin'' section. This usually means (or has meant) that the coin(s) are put into circulation via a ''partner'' like Woolworth or Australia Post.
I asked the RAM about this coin on Facebook.
Here is the reply...
"Royal Australian Mint Hi Stephen, unfortunately information regarding this coin is currently under embargo. We look forward to telling you all about it soon so stay tuned to our website and social media channels for more information in the near future. Thank you."
Again somewhere in this great country of ours, the embargo on this coin has again been broken.
I wish the authorities would take action to stop this embargo breaking.
I am really getting sick of it.
Why have an embargo on coins anyway?
Waste of time.

I agree what is the big deal on keeping an embargo on coins? The Royal Mint announce their releases for the whole year in advance. Euro Commemorative coins are announced months and sometimes years before they are released. The USA Mints also tell everyone what is going to be released in the future quite a fair bit in advance. So why is the RAM trying to be like some kind of Quasi Secret Service of some kind? It is laughable.
QuoteQuasi Secret Service of some kind? It is laughable.
:agreed:
I think the RAM should be dragged into the present kicking & screaming.
Can't be too far away as on ebay now.

I wonder if there will be swaps for them? Surely not tomorrow anyway.
They are thru Woolworths so no swaps.
Only in your change or on a card
Do you know when wooleys will have them?
Available from this Wednesday
Thanks for the info Jen.

Top image taken from RAM site this morning. It would be handy if they could tell their right hand from their left.

I'm not interested in obtaining any of these so I don't know if the info is correct.
I guess, not being available online means the Woolies online shopping.

:i_agree: Duh! :tease: Don't know where my mind was. It may work better now since I face planted it into my Chest of Drawers last night. Going to have a couple shiners.

Pedro
I didn't break anything, spent about 4 hrs at the Hospital. EEG, Scan of head, no irregularities found. Lost about a 4 x 2 cm hunk of skin off my left forearm.
Had a crappy night last night, need something pretty strong to give me some sleep. Maybe the GP can give me something temporary if/when I go to see him. Not too keen going out in public looking like I do.
Oops. way off topic.
Geez,....AtB...
Wow Nevol! Sounds nasty. Hope you get some rest and are feeling better soon. :-/
Sounds like your are sore and sorry Nancy but, thankfully no major damage.
How is the chest of drawers? I suspect much better off than you.
Chest of Drawers totally AU. Even one of the handles that clocked me where my nose joins my face. still Unc.
Get well soon Nancy!
That sounds painful Nancy, I hope you recovery quickly.
Heheh. Looks like I've done a few rounds with Jeff Fenech. Saw GP earlier, she says I'll look worse before I look better as the bruising will all pool at the bottom of my face. :blackeye: :blackeye:

Thanks.
Got a couple today - there didn't seem to be many left.
Did you make sure they didn't have the olympic reverse Mr T?
I did - both female cricketers.
Any ideas where the errors were found?
Where was this reported by the way? I saw a screenshot somewhere of a post about the Olympic T20 mix-up but can't remember where.
I saw it on FB Mr T, I'll try and track down the info for you when I get a few spare minutes. :-)
Thanks, that may have been where I saw it too but I was sure I saw a screenshot rather than a post.
Yes, I had a bit of a squizz, couldn't see it, but will check again. I got 6 of the T20's from Woolies today ........ lovely lady at the counter. All T20's though ... lol :-) (One day I'll be super lucky ..... already lucky, just to be here .... rofl).
At least the Australian team is in the semi's with a chance of making the finals.
unless their game is rained out, then they miss out because they came second in their pool.
Katy Perry will be performing at the final (apparently she is a fan of women's cricket, LOL)
Orgianisers are hoping for a crowd of 90,000 which will be a world record for any women's sporting event.
We all have the coins so lets hope they can do it!
congratulations to Australia's most winning team.
The Aussie girls are through to the final on Sunday to play India.
Will imagine the Indians will have a fair amount of support there.
Lets hope they beat the world record for a Women's sporting event
& Australia win the ICC WOMEN'S
T20 WORLD CUP
2020

That's the one Mr T (good job). I thought it was a PP post, though shared by someone else so I couldn't track it down as quick as I thought I might.
Congratulations to the Australian women's Cricket Team for winning the T20 World cup
In front of 86,000 at the MCG great result girls, well done!
I pulled 3 x T20 $2 coins from one $50 bag today. :)

Have any more of the T20 Olympic paint mule mix-up coins been found? I haven't been keeping too close an eye on Facebook but I haven't seen any pop up.
My son just gave me 2 x 2020 $2 coins, 75 Yrs End WWII.
Got them from Woollies this morning. First I've seen of them.

I just checked with my wife, who is now a checkout chick at Woolies and she knows
nothing about them, so I don't think it's a special release by Woolies. May be just some
of those RAM reject rolls that have gone into circulation.
Looking at Ebay the End of WWII coins seem to be coming out in bags and security rolls so it appears that the RAM has decided to get them out there.

Here it is Ralf. I assumed a pic had already been posted as this coin has apparently been around since May, but couldn't find one anywhere.
There was a thread for them here, but it went off topic.

I now remember seeing this coin somewhere before.
Ralf, that's one coin I don't have for you yet.
In fact I don't have one for myself yet. :(
Ditto.

I'm glad you are confident. This is a very strange year. :(

No argument there...
I have just got off the phone to the RAM and the non mint marked coin or circulating currency is NOT sold by the RAM.
Strange statement as the Mint Sets are circulating currency are they not.

I think they get away with this because you are paying for the package and the coins are incidental. This is all something to do with the ATO complaining that RAM was selling coins and they weren't getting their cut. This is why you can't "buy" coins in bags or rolls from the mint, only through dealers or as a swap at pop ups.

That has been the case for at least two or three years with the coloured two dollar coins hasn't it?
