Reading and seen pictures of another $2 coin being distributed through Woolworths stores but I can't find anything about an official release date or the cost of the carded coin.
One chap on another coin forum has 25 of the new carded $2 coins up for auction.
I went out earlier tonight to two Woolworths stores and they knew nothing about the coin.
Does anyone here know a thing or two about the coin?

This is the ''Wallabies'' coin Mister T mentioned in the Quantas coins thread.
The coin was announced in currency determiantion 4-2019; ''R67''
As triggersmob has pointed out to me it's most likely because of the Rugby World Cup 2019 beginning on 20-Sep-2019.
As Rugby seems to be a quite popular sport in Australia I expect that RAM/Woolworth will be dispensing enough coins for all of us collectors.
I certainly hope so, Ralf. Will definitely be checking to see if they
are circulation coins, or just carded coins.
$3 folder available from Woolworths on Wednesday

Got up early and secured my requirements, (2), from the Woollies at Deer Park.
I am happy chappy.
Here the official announcement from the RAM:

At least the carded coins are at a reasonable price.
I got mine today. $3 seemed cheap.
RAM also sell these on eShop
check your carded coins for peeling paint.
Some rough ones out there.
Managed to get mine today.
Non carded coins from the till.

As expected the $2 coins and folders and bags have been listed on thieveBay and Facebook even before release day
More Woolworths staff about to lose their jobs due to sales of $50 bags ...
Congrats Steve.
I guess a nice little gift on your birthday.
But the paint seems a bit strange. Is that what jens coins meant when he warned of ''peeling?''
Ralf, these come in a bag so they get knocked around a fair bit.
I chose this coin from the bunch I got, for obverse side. The
Queen's face had less marks on it.
It also seems the pad printing is totally random, so the colours
can end up in any position.

Thanks for explaining. Interesting...
I'm just about over these coloured Coins, surely they are only draw fillers that will be worth a $2 in 20 years time.
After saying that i still get sucked in and buy a few of each, scared someone will find an error on them down the track.
Local TAB shop owner says they are turning up already so will have a steady supply there.

It's getting harder to put them in the main collection - really it's a promotional piece (I suspect made under contract) rather a real circulating coin.
Like it or not but the coloured $2 are the new craze and people are making serious markups on them selling on the secondary market to the dentriment of pre decimals and unc 1966 - 1983 decimals

I agree, but its a passing fad surely, good luck to those that can make a $ but i stand by my comment that they will be worth face value in the decades ahead.
