Title: 2000 Mule
Post by: leonardp@tpg.com.au on April 27, 2019, 06:14:13 PM
ok.  My Mr Squiggle looks to be a fraud but this one is for real.  This one is off to get slabbed, pity it isn't a higher grade. Found this in an Armaguard roll from the Comm Bank.

Lucks on your side.

I haven't found a Mule for over four years and I am hoping that I will find my 43rd very shortly.

Nice pickup. :sun_bespectacled: Just my humble opinion that the 2000 mule is ridiculously priced due to it's overrated rarity. Some of the prices sellers are asking for this coin you would think it'' s the bloody HOLY Grail..LOL... :taunt:

Hi.  I'm in Brisbane so sending it through the Melb Mint. They have an office in the city but the wait is 3 months for the coin to come back.

And to some it IS the holy grail .People wouldn't consistently pay the money if they thought they were't worth it and there obviously aren't enough to go around otherwise the prices would be much lower

Aren't enough to go around!!! Check EBAY there's 17 mules for sale, ranging from $400.00 to $2500.00 and NOT selling...The 2000 mule is like the colour tv that was worth a weeks wages when it first appeared and now only a days pay.. :tease:

The reason why the 2000 mule commands such a high price has more to do with the fact that it is one of the best known decimal error coins and every collector wants one.
Although not incredibly Rare it is incredibly popular.

A few hundred bucks for a circulated example is not bad value. But $1,000 for a VF or XF example, for instance, is too much. Ebay is full of such poorly-priced mules.
