There has been some wild weather over there on the east coast lately.
I hope all our east coast members and their families are safe & well.
hi steve ,
every thing ok up Caboolture way thanks. ,, kel ,,
All OK in my neck of the woods.
High winds here (lots of trees down) but not much rain. The hail bypassed us.
I think the storms built in intensity as they passed us heading for the coast.
All good where we are, but I did hear the Gold Coast copped a beating
Heavy storms 8 and 9 days ago, another 2 storms on Thursday arvo (both with hail). Another early storm this morning (got caught in that walking home from work). And we now have a neurotic dog that keeps trying to escape every time a storm hits.

Seems like you might be the one that has come worst off.
Hopefully you have seen the end of the storms.
:scared: Hope so, had the repair guys here this morning making yet another attempt to fix a leak in the loungeroom that happens every heavy downpour, also same problem next house and a few others. 14 months old, built by Chinese labourers, probably lots of Chinese materials and most of the investors who own the area are Chinese, what could go wrong? :scared:Probably will need to demolish whole suburb within 25 years, still better than a site I worked last year where every (Chinese) kitchen and (Chinese) bathroom will need replacing within 3 years or a site I worked 6 months ago where every other place leaked and they are having to replace flooring, tiles, kitchens etc already. Those residents only go what they paid for, what did they expect for a lousy 1.2 million?
Safe and sound here.......no realbad weather, just wind and rain
Just got our power back on. Almost 3 days without it. Not great timing. 3 fridges and a freezer ..... lost everything in the fridges and some frozen stuff.

Bugger! I hope it's all insured. :(

I told you leave the baked beans alone. :)
We are okay up here (Hills area in Sydney) .. I got caught when I was coming back from Cricket last weekend.. Saw the devastation left behind. Lots of uprooted trees and damaged homes etc.. hopefully no more..
Is it just my imagination, or does Sydney seem to be getting more of these "Super Cell' storms these days?

Probably your imagination. I can recall that storm in '72 that blew down our brick fence or a storm in'84 that dropped 18" or a storm in '89 that took the roof off our rental. Always have been bad storms and with global cooling starting they might get worse (latest research shows we are entering a Maunder Minimum AKA mini ice age).
This was one pic from back when the storm came through. This one landed upright in the middle of the road. Stayed there for 5 days before they pulled it down.
(Have a huge one down over near the shed that I'll try and get a photo of later).

Geez, imagine if that landed on top of your car. :(
You bet! It was a good sized tree (or part thereof) .... in perspective the road there is wide enough to allow a car and a truck to go each way.
(Will try and get my tall one photographed .... hopefully later today)
A few snaps of the big tree that came down. It's snapped off about 18 foot up and was around 3 foot thick where it snapped. It wiped out plenty of others on it's way down. It's going to be a challenge to get it down the way it's sitting at the moment.
(Little Uni's spare cars were ...... spared, thanks to the angle it fell ...... it was the taller of the trees in that section, the last photo gives a bit of an idea of the height).

Nice pics.
That's a lot of timber to move.
I hope you have a wood fired heater.
:laugh2: ..... fortunately we do Steve! Won't have to go far to get it this year.
I hope all you guys in the east can stay cool over the next few days.
Here in Perth it's about 20c and raining. :)
