I came across this quite by chance yesterday: https://www.smh.com.au/business/small-business/coin-collectors-are-making-millions-and-it-s-young-people-cashing-in-20181210-p50l8u.html

Talk about misleading headlines!     Not making millions - TURNING OVER millions - there is a whale of a difference!

Interesting but a bit of a waffle with little detail or facts.
I thought Eric was older(apologies Eric) than that based on his Posts and articles, certainly a new breed of Dealer emerging as the older ones move on.
I just wonder how much longer the Mint can continue to churn out their 'Çollectibles',the Golden Goose must be getting the staggers.

I guess you'd expect that from the papers these days Basil. (I don't think 'substance' is in their modus operandi).

There's no doubt Eric is putting his expertise to very good use and he deserves all good things as such. (Likewise to our forum founders who continue to keep us all informed).

I hold similar concerns regarding the mint. Gimmicks now and again are ok, but overdoing it will cause the hobby issues in the long run. Too many out there for the fast buck which kills off people's interest, people get burnt and don't come back. (Early 1980's Australia Post kind of proved that).

A fan (and customer) of Eric, very fair in his dealings.
As for the mint, its great that they have these dollar and 2 dollar commemorative coins in change or distributed at face through retailers. Something to get kids (and old farts) looking at their change and becoming collectors.
What will kill the goose is all the NCLT grannybait, virtually nobody can afford to get a complete collection and that turns most collectors off (plus "coins" that bear no resemblance to what we get in change with gem/crystal/meteorite inserts, scratch and sniff coins  and other such nonsense at prices in the thousands).

Yes, it's a completely misleading headline. Perhaps they should have interviewed some of the coin dealers who also do gold and silver bullion. They turnover tens of millions.

You won't believe it Basil, but little Miss Uni (who is only 8) just came in and told me she'd found a unicorn doing the "dab". (I couldn't remember what it was called). Anyhow I showed her your ebay link and the picture is the exact one!!! Unbelievable!

Yeah, its a move of some kind with the hand across the eyes, probably the Decal has been copied by the Chinese, what they can't copy they steal the IP.
