Just read the RAMs advert on their legends ballot for a 6 coin set. Part of their spiel is as follows; " This unique set features the 2018 $1 'C' Mintmark Uncirculated Coin – Australia's Convict Era 1788-1868. Presented in exclusively designed packaging, the 2018 Legends Ballot will be the only way to secure this 2018 set that features this sought-after $1 coin!
My question is, does anyone know if the $1 coin in this set differs from the C mm coin in the four coin set?

Basically the same coins that are in the standard 2018 Mint Set just different cardboard. Mehhh not for me thanks.

The standard mint set is A $1 Armistice coin and the Legends set is a $1 Convict coin.
Apologies Jen ... You are right .. So many dollar coins I just got them mixed up. I got the Convict "C" mintmarked coin in the 4 coin set and another "C" one from the press in the Mint. So I definitely don't need one from the legends set.

As there is no mintage limit the "ballot" is pretty much just an order form so that RAM will know how many it needs to package up to meet the demand :angel:

As long as the mintage is under 1500, I don't really care. I'd rather the extra sets end up on eBay than not be produced at all. It's only when the mintage hits 1500 that it becomes a problem, because then he's preventing other people (i.e. genuine Legends members) from getting it directly from RAM. I reckon that guy probably got his entire family to sign up, and then sell their sets back to him. That's why he's got 3 extra sets to sell on eBay. Although it seems unfair at the moment, it's great to know that future Legends members will be able to get back issues from him instead of missing out completely. That's what coin collecting is all about - hoarding stuff for the next generation. :ok:
