Because there's a Borobi!
I have looked at the catalogue re the coins and it says "subject to terms and conditions".
Be blowed if I can find the terms and conditions.
Makes a mockery of the whole thing me thinks.

Only from Woolies? Or dealers will have stock?
Listed rolls on ebay already and not even released until tomorrow.

"If you are in Melbourne you can pickup in person as I will have access to more. "
I wonder if they work for the security company?
Dealers will have stock.
Was told by a lady on the phone from Woolworths customer service that you can order the folders online for the first 2 weeks of the promotion.
RAM will be selling the folder
Not again.
What is the folder worth?
Surely not close to $50

Here go the money grabber's. At it again.
I shall be reporting these sellers to Woolworths and the RAM tomorrow.
I am getting sick and tired of these that beat the embargo.
I try and try to secure bags/rolls each time and get knocked back with the threat "if I give you a bag I can be sacked on the spot".
What a load of bunkem, unfair dismissal claim coming there way.
How do these RIPOFF merchants on Fleabay get hold of these coins in rolls before they are even available from the legitimate source i.e Woolworths?
Rolls from the above Fleabay fly by night merchant at a starting bid of $150 .... FFS
This should be investigated by the Federal Police or the ACCC. If Woolworths staff are involved they should be sacked. If any Armaguard or Chubb or whatever coin supplier staff are involved they should be sacked and the Companies fined.
What is going on here is totally and utterly unscrupulous and needs to be stamped out. It happened with the Olympic Coins and Possum Magic Coins. It Stinks.
My 2 cents worth. - Mike
I see the dickhead has just now pulled the listing. These were his words about the listing ....
For Sale is a Complete Roll Sealed and Brand New. The Coin are in Perfect Condition and are worth far more in a sealed roll. Individually these sell for $10 Plus. This is a new coin and you wont find any adds on eBay for a sealed roll as of todays date. If you are in Melbourne you can pickup in person as I will have access to more. If u want to confirm authenticity go to any woolies store and ask them what their special $2 coins come in. Every store will say they come in the armoured guard role. All their coins are processed from them. You never see them because they are broken and never sold like this. I have access to the coins and pay for everyone. Happy to get them professionally authenticated at your expense.
But now >>>> "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." <<< Code for "Oh shit, maybe I shouldn't have put this on yet?"
He basically just dobbed Armaguard in well and truly ... How DID he get access to them I wonder?
Mike
The lady at woolies had to go to storage and fish the box out as they weren't ready for someone to ask about them.
Looked like about 25-35 folders in the box. Considering I took 5, if this is all of their stock, they wont last long.

MORE BOROBI FOR ME!!!!!
Any borobi is too much.
Hey seedyrom, were the coins toned like the possum magic ones? I remember folders from woolies with the possum magic coins were toned as compared to those bought from ram. Cheers
They have presented them a lot better this time. Last time they were just pressed into the cardboard folder and exposed to the air and therefore toned easily. This time they are partially kept in plastic similar to the year mint sets except you can easily separate the two halves of the plastic.
I have had a good look at the $1 coins and these are the 23 sports depicted on them as per the coins in the set (That I got) from left to right.
Coin 1 - Hockey, Tennis, Diving, Athletics, Boxing, Powerlifting.
Coin 2 - Lawn Bowls, Artistic Gymnastics, Netball, Weightlifting, Triathlon, Wrestling.
Coin 3 - Road Cycling, Rugby 7's, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Swimming, Mountain Bike, Shooting.
Coin 4 - Track Cycling, Squash, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Vollyball.
This links you to the page where you can interpret what each icon on the set represents.

Cheers - Mike
Can you see the obverse or you have to destroy the packaging to get to it?
This looks very different to the possum magic coin packaging where you can pop the coins out. I thought they would reuse that design.
I bought 2 sets today. If anyone is interested let me know. I can buy and post it to you if they have more tomorrow. Cost of postage I am not sure..

Very easy to see both sides and the coins are very easy to pop out. Very similar to the double sided mint set packaging but not glued together.
Mike
I picked up one set and ten loose coins last night. :)
I ordered a set from the RAM. No Woolworths in our town. No Aldi or Coles either but there is a "Super IGA" -it is not very "super" though.
I picked up 2 sets from wooly's yesterday.
Picked mine up yesterday as well, and was great to see the Mint didn't permanently entomb the coins, which made it super easy to remove the four one dollar coins without destroying the folder. Happy to say the said coins have had their acetone bath and are now safely entombed in saflips, and the three two dollar coins have found another home. :yahoo:

Only one coin has been released so far, so 10 coins the same.
The next two coins will be released over the next two weeks.
2 coins have been added to your pile. :)

Thanks for adding them to my pile. :yahoo:

That listing is deceptive. Coins are from bags. Roll paper is not particularly relevant except to entice a buyer.

I just went to Woollies to get some coins, and the lady said she wasn't allowed to check whether she was giving me a Commonwealth Games coin, and she couldn't swap any of them after giving them to me. I then told her that they were able to do this previously, and she said that the Terms & Conditions had changed. I then went to the Woollies website and found this:

How is this fair? If I go there specifically to get some loose Commonwealth Games coins, do I now need to go to up to 20 different registers just to get one? And what happens if they give me last week's coin instead of this week's? Is it now just a case of bad luck?
Does anyone else think we should write a petition to either RAM or Woollies to make the Terms & Conditions a bit more friendly towards collectors? I might have kids in a few years, and I'd love to be able to give them a few loose coins, instead of telling them that Woollies didn't want them to have any.
I have also aired my views re this very subject directly to certain persons at the RAM and reply I got was "once we issue the coins we have no more control over them" and in regards to looking after collectors, I got not reply.
I personally have had no trouble securing the coins at one or two at a time.
It would appear to me that the above extract as posted was arrived at in co-operation with Woolies management so I would say that both Woollies and the RAM are in cahoots with one another.
Good news. I went to several other Woollies stores today, and ended up with a hoard. I guess I just have to keep doing what I did last time, and go from store to store until I have enough. All of the people I spoke to were quite helpful, but I guess there are always a few who just want to make life difficult.
I think I overreacted because the person who gave me trouble yesterday works at my local store, and until yesterday, I'd never had any difficulty obtaining coins from them. I still remember when they sold me almost an entire bag worth of blue Olympic coins, so it's a pity that I now have to fight tooth-and-nail just to get one from them.

Yeah what a joke mate that legal jargon is ... it should be simple ... yet we see bags of them listed on thieveBay from obviously dishonest staff of Woolworths

This happens every time one of these promotions involving RAM and Woolies comes into play.
Instead of blaming the cockroaches that are flogging the bags off Maybe we should be blaming RAM for continuing on with this deal with woollies after so many breaches of their agreement :whistle2:

Dodgy Woolworths managers and Armaguard drivers are those selling bags
