Never lucky enough to own one, but I did have an XY V8 Fairmont for 19 years.

:good: Close enough for me Trigger ..... the South African GT's were Fairmonts from memory.
I just received my latest issue of the Stamp Bulletin and inside the
back cover they are showing this series of coins. So they are now
available from Australia post and they usually do free post.
20 litres gasoline for 100 km for both mentioned cars? (That's how gasoline consumption is stated here in Germany: litres per 100 km).
Otherwise, great car, great coin.
Yes, that's pretty good consumption for what they were ..... 14 mpg in our old terms.
They did come out with a larger 36 gallon fuel tank as an option (163.8 litre) which means you could have done 508 miles or 819 km on one tank.

This morning (it's Friday morning here in Germany), filling up the fuel tank with 160 litre would cost you 233,44 Euros (352,47 AUD / 247,57 USD) here in Germany
:laugh2: ..... Yes, there would be enough petrol for you to be able to drive to the next bank to get a loan for the next tank full!!!
Redlock ..... I saw an excellent documentary about the Porsche Factory in Stuttgart a few months ago. Absolutely brilliant production.
The silver part of the coin looks really good Steve but can't say I'm that impressed with the sticker, looks to be very light :)
Sounds like your fuel must be nearly as dear as our redlock

Not sure it is a sticker AJ, I think it might be printed like an old dot matrix printer.
Looks a lot better when it's not blown up about 5 times. :)

Oh so it's like the first lot of coloured coins, the 2012 50 cent in the mint set. Still looks good but could look better :)

 how much is fuel there ATM Steve as it's about $1.39 a litre here..so much for the accc, they're always saying we're paying too much but they never do anything about it :@ and it's not like we can say we're not paying that as they'd soon call the copper :-/ Oh and that's unleaded 91

91 octane is $1.21 here at the moment, but Monday is usually our cheap day,
so by then it will probably be about $1.10 - $1.15.
We don't have any cheap day as it's always the same price no matter what day of the week it is. I've heard them talk about the price cycle in the cities but in the bush they know they have us over a barrel.
Hasn't been $1.10 here for years and years :(
Last filled up at $1.12 about 3 weeks ago. Thursday's price $1.42. Wild variations.
Pedro
Not much point driving out of your way to save a few cents but worth checking prices where you will be when you need to fill up.
Fuel Check (https://www.fuelcheck.nsw.gov.au/app)
Last time I went to Newcastle I checked and two Shell/Coles stations I would be passing differed by 10¢/litre. With a docket and my Wife's Fly Buys card (she had just loaded a 6¢/litre extra discount offer) I paid more than 40¢/litre less than the price at home.
