Title: Help - Problem with Ebay
Post by: Triggersmob on September 07, 2017, 10:26:26 PM
Can someone help me please?

I am having trouble viewing items on ebay.com.au
I can do a search and see all the items, but when I
click on a particular item to view it in more detail I
get this message...

This page isn't working

www.ebay.com.au redirected you too many times.
Try clearing your cookies.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

I have tried clearing cookies and that does not work.
I can access the item through ebay.com or ebay.co.uk
but not the Aussie site.

Anyone know what I can do to fix the problem?

Are you using a VPN to connect to the internet ? May be try using a different browser ? What browser are you using ?

Just a crazy thing, on another site I had a viewing problem and that problem disappeared by using google chrome as the browser.
Once the technical problem "fixed itself" then my normal browser MSIE went back to working ok.
No idea what the "problem" was.
Fred.

OK, well it does seem to be a browser issue. I normally use Google Chrome,
but I just tried it with Firefox and it worked ok. So how do I fix it, so Chrome works?
Ausproofs, I'm not sure what a VPN is, but I use a normal modem on ADSL2+.

have you tried shutting down your computer (Not Restart) and booting it up again, Sometimes this sorts this type of problem out :good:

VPN is used for securing internet traffic.

You are obviously not using it. What I suggest is to reinstall chrome and try again. That should clear anything that may have happened to your current installation not to work. It wiuld be easier than trying to troubleshoot. If that doesnt work you can try other things. Thats my 2 c.

Try 'settings',top RHC,click on 3 dots,'ádvanced' settings',then scroll down to bottom of page and click on 'reset'.It will delete all Cookies so you will have to log in to all your sites again.
If that doesn't work, delete Chrome, turn off Computer, restart and download fresh Chrome.
If it still doesn't work then you have picked something up on your Computer, probably needs Virus/Worm cleaning, plenty of Info. on the Net.

Reinstalling Chrome might be the answer, but I don't want to loose all my bookmarks.

I deleted all the cookies and it didn't work. Might have to download a new chrome.
It only seems to affect ebay.com.au though, so It's not a big issue. Maybe I'll just have to keep using Firefox.

That's all really really weird Steve.

Generally I use Internet Explorer without issue and Chrome for some apps. I did note that ebay would no longer display ""view order details" using IE (all bunched up in the top left corner), however GC worked fine. This is still the case despite the fact I've rebooted many many times since, installed several MS patch updates and several Virus protection updates ....... it's still the same.

What OS are you using ? ....... you'll have to excuse me as I'm still on Vista!!!! (Works for me ..... at the moment).

Sorry I can't be of any help Steve and Ebay has been funny for me for a while now, as soon as I click on something it takes ages to load so I don't look there very much any more. Besides not knowing how to do any of these thing I really couldn't be bothered but then I have no need to use feebay.

Yeah, but there is a problem if Chrome is playing up.My main Browser is Chrome on Win 10 and i'm not having any major problems with Ebay other than the occasional slow load of MyEbay.
I have two Ebay Accts.,the main one is logged in on Chrome and the 2nd is logged in on Edge on the same Computer, saves logging in and out all the time, and the Ebay slow load is on both so its an Ebay problem but only occasionally at least on my Computer and ISP.

Vista was fine, I never had any problems with that.
I'm on Windows 7 now.
