Rode down to Southern Cross for the RAM coin swap ahead of the ANDA show this weekend. Curse the bike paths being closed along the Yarra for bridge works at Swan St.
I wasn't surprised to see Goldy, of course.. he's a bit like a wooden nickel the way he keeps turning up. But Michael, Jen and Kim rocked up as well, so we got some pics to go with the coins.
Pretty hard slog riding uphill with about 900 tons of extra weight in the saddle bags though. I could barely walk when I got home.
http://imgur.com/a/sEXEy LOL.. I just noticed the folder Imgur put these into. Think its trying to tell us something? ;)

Can you email a copy of that photo please Fulvio..........
I see you're getting friendly with the mint worker. He's the only person in that photo who I actually recognise. I'm glad you're all enjoying the Melbourne weather. ;)
I thought I recognised that face -had a chat with him at EKKA.
His opinion of Armaguard was similar to mine but, I suspect, not the official line.
Just got home.
Had a great day catching up with coin people.
Had a detour to the vets after picking up a koala on the road after being hit by a car.
He has a dislocated leg.
The vet sent the koala home with us for the night and may have surgery tomorrow.
We are on koala duty tonight.
great happy photo!!!
awww koala duty how sweet
what coins were the RAM swapping?
The coin swaps were for 2017 $2 lest we forget bags of 5 ,
2017 $1 100 Years Anzacs, 2017 50c Pride & Passion,
2016 50c changeover coins.
They had all the latest release coins and the 2017 $1 counterstamp map coin Tran Australia.

No need.
Just go to the album and grab them all. That's kind of the point, cos email really sucks for large files. :dodgy:

Likewise. And I even made it home just as the battery quit on me. Awesome effort, given that the first time I rode into town, it died halfway back, at Bourke Rd.
But no way am I riding into the coin show tomorrow. 180km in two days is just too much for my poor backside. Owchies.
Speaking of owchies, we need Koala pix! And.. who pays for the vet?
Oh... and tell Kimmy that you should never shoot in portrait mode. Because screens are all Landscape. This is something that hugely pisses me off every time you see footage on the news, as a narrow strip with all that wasted space either side. :dodgy:
The vet bills for native animals are free.
I think it is the Government that pays.
If he's still alive tomorrow I will take some photos.
Koalas are very sensitive to stress but he was sat up sniffing gum leaves a while ago.

I've always said Koalas are stoners.
At least Eucalypts smell better than glue or petrol, eh? ;)

As I said, similar to my opinion.

I hope you guys realise that some of the people from RAM have access to this site and discussing one of their employees views may get him into trouble.
PM's may be the better way to go with this sort of question :ok:

The chap with the beard is also a RAM rep and the gent kneeling in the front is the RAM's portable press operator.
The lady holding the camera and the lady and gent to the left of the picture are well known members of this forum and who were involved in the koala rescue.
The good looking gent to the right of the pickie is yours truly.
I can't see a good looking gent to the right. Am I looking at the wrong photo?

Agree.
Seems that around here, the lurkers far outnumber the actively posting members.
Pity but I agree with you Trout. Being a now 'ex' public servant you do have to be careful what you say . Heresay such as, " i say that he said etc" (and sometimes those rumours can get totally ridiculous) is a bit different but not a path worth going down or worth any issues for the staff member.
Great photo and everyone looks like they are enjoying themselves. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that. I haven't met anyone on this forum in person, but I know the RAM's portable press operator because I often see him at the mint pop-up shops. Am I correct in assuming that you're not in the photo, Fulvio, because you were the one taking it?

NONONoooo...
The only good looking guy was behind the camera, as Herc correctly surmised. ;)
He correctly surmised who was behind the camera -good looking was not mentioned, not even implied.
Right... which of you lot infected me with the dreaded lurgy on the weekend? :(
I like how Legacy parked there collection table nearby.
"Excuse me sir, are you able to spare any coins for legacy?"

Yup. Would be funny if not so very true. Sigh.
