Title: Grading banknotes
Post by: gabby on August 09, 2017, 02:29:28 PM
Does anyone get banknotes graded????

I want to get some done but am a bit hindered by some of the wording on the form to submit.

Would rather do it off this thread so as to not clog it up by me with (I think) silly questions

One question though - what do they mean by Pick No.   They are on all the notes that I have that are graded.

I would rather do my own.  Not that good at it but I alway under grade rather than overgrade.

I'm hopeless at it.   Have been getting as much info as possible and getting it done externally can get expensive  - at the moment that is my preferred way.   It might change later on as I get better at grading

Pick number is the catalogue number as per the standard catalogue of paper money by Krause. Some of the better grading services will also quote a banknote book reference

Just want to make sure I'm filling the form out right.

I'll be sending mine to PMG - similar layout I guess

Thanks mate.   I presume they are pretty close in their language of grading.

I'll take a punt and see how I go.

Thanks again
