Title: 1995 $5 Wide and Narrow Bands
Post by: Hercules on June 05, 2017, 09:59:30 AM
I'm sure I saw an article about this previously, but I can't remember where it was. Does anyone know what the highest serial number is for the 1995 $5 note with narrow bands? I know they were only issued in the range HC to KC, and ended at 233001, but which serial number did they begin with?

766,999 sheets, 999999 to 233001

A long way from being the lowest mintage $5 notes. 2005 was nine times rarer, at 89,963, and of course test notes were a hundred times rarer.

Yes, but did all of the 1995 $5 notes from HC to KC have the narrow bands, or only some of them? How can you be sure that the narrow bands began at 999999 instead of 800000 or 700000?
