Title: Woolworths Building Ring Thingies
Post by: Goldseeker on April 21, 2017, 09:29:26 PM
Please be advised that Woolworths has started to issue round building thingies as collector items.

Wife will be collocting them so if you go shopping at Woolworths, and don't want these thingies, the wife would appreciate them.

TIA.

I will ask my wife to look out for them.
What are "Building Ring Thingies"? I looked on Woolies site and all I could find was Marvel Heroes Super Discs have landed at Woolworths (https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Discover/heroes)

Hm...the people in the Marvel ad were waaaay over 12.  They must have been a bit embarrassed making it unless they were very well paid.

Don't forget folks, my wife is collecting these.

We need numbers 5.  12.  18,  24,  30, 36 and 42.

They seem to be scarcest of the lot.

So my son just busted me going through his stuff in his room

"What are you doing?"
"Oh, I was just looking at your Woolies tokens"
"Why?"
"There's someone on an Internet forum I'm on who is looking for some particular tokens"
Chuckling: "heh heh ... the swap day was yesterday mate. Heh heh heh"

Anyway .... we went through the tokens together

"So what do I get?"

I just entered round two of negotiations for the disk.

"Can I have the token and we post it to that guy?"
"Yeah sure. After I've built my structure (he's working on something), I'm just going to throw them into the fire pit anyway. I reckon they'll burn really well."

PM your address and I'll get a guy to drop it at your door

I haven't been following these at all but there was a news story I half heard about some of these selling for a lot. I fobbed it off as a slow news day and the media can easily do an internet search, use some facebook quotes and eBay info and make up a story. I did my own eBay search and it's possible (if it wasn't shill bidding) that some of these have sold for a bit.

eBay link (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Woolworths-Marvel-Heroes-Disc-12-Ultron-RARE-/232342408503?hash=item3618afcd37%3Ag%3As8AAAOSwi7RZGNb8&nma=true&si=QHI0dyMNLMi6vlIKzT200yacrJU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557)

What do those in the know think about rarity or has Woolies done this (limited production on particular discs) on purpose for the media attention?

Those prices are way out of line.

With the help of some people on this forum, wifey now only needs only 2 x No 12 and 1 x 42.

Not so much the media attention I think, but more likely just
to get customers back into the shop.

My wife was telling me about this today. Someone where she
works (at Woolies) has just done it and her kids wouldn't know
the difference.

Beggars can't be choosy. Think of all the kids from working class families whose parents are struggling to make ends meet, and the disappointment those kids must feel when they continually miss out on the rings they want. This just goes to show how out-of-touch Woollies is at the moment, and how they have no comprehension of what it means to live within a budget. :@

I don't shop at Woolies,  I shop at my local IGA that is owned locally and I don't feel like I am shopping at a railway station either.
I get good food and groceries at reasonable prices that are on a par or Better than Woolies ALL the time, This is probably why IGA don't have to put on the various Sales "Gimmicks" that Woolies do to suck the customers in.

The west must be different, because every IGA I've seen on the east coast has been heavily overpriced. My experience is that Aldi is the cheapest place to buy groceries, followed by Coles/Woolworths and then IGA.

How about listing the Individual Numbers you have for swap and maybe we can swap one for one......

Also, what Individual Numbers you require.
