Nice work ... sounds like you had a good day.. My day started with cleaning the garage and the bird cages... Ended with nice lunch and few drinks at my niece birthday party... so not too bad...
Considered going along to IAG myself but didn't in the end. Just sat around lapping up the rain as it's been way too long since we've had a decent drop :yahoo:

You bastard and you didn't call in to say G'Day..don't you love me any more duggee :cray:
Every day is pretty much the same as the last for me
Rainy Sunday WOW!!!
We have had 279mm in the last few days here in port Macquarie
that's 11 inches on the old scale, all I've been able to do is hope the water goes down, never seen rain like that my shower doesn't spit out that much water.
So watched the Cricket & the Footy all weekend
Went to a 90+ table coin show 65 miles (40Km) away. Purchased 5 more generic silver rounds at $18 each. Also purchased some VG to F foreign coins, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, and Straits Settlements.....all silver. Their prices for other coins were very high....about 1/3rd over listed retail prices. About 40% of sales I saw were people buying bullion. I saw one elderly guy (77-?) plop down $2000 U S cash for (11) 10 oz bars. It was a good show which is held twice a year.

:scratch_one-s_head: don't you mean 105km away as there's more km's to the mile then there is miles to km's :winkextra:
If your after any aussie or kiwi coins you can message me or ask our mate Steve and if I can help I will :friends:

Thanks AJ for the offer of Aussie & Kiwi coins. I goofed on the mile/km calculation. It won't happen again.
All good mate as I just thought you were just a wee bit short :)
I don't have many kiwi coins but any circulated aussie coins I'm sure Steve and I could help you out :good:
As for trades A J, I have many U S coins......15,000? They are all common with a few semi-common. I have all of the U S denominations from !864 to 1970 and prefer not to trade anything before 1916. Need anything?
Here's my want list and any help would be greatly appreciated thanks :friends:

Congrats on the wedding anniversary
And have fun with the new van
Yep the QLD cyclone is looking a bit nasty. I have a few relies in Townsville and Cairns
I have been looking at the ads for buying one that is permanently in a van park. Thought it might be nice to have a little coastal get away van
Anyone here got one?
P's wet Sunday morning. Lay in bed with the mobile reading the forum. Very relaxing
Congratulations Kel and Dawn on your 56th Anniversary! :friends:
Have a fantastic trip. :yahoo:
56 years of wedded bliss is a real achievement
Some couples are soul mates from the beginning and I reckon Kel and Dawn are most defiantely meant for each other !

That's not a bad option as you can rent it out when you are not using it :good:
BUT you will be stuck with going to the same place every time instead of exploring the many other Amazing places Australia has to offer.:yahoo:
Quotelast week we bought a caravan
What sort of van did you get Kel?
Mrs Trout has her heart set on an off road van with a dunny and a shower built into it and I want an annex that is simple and easy to erect.
The Pop Up van we have at the moment is great to tow and use but it is a real pain in the Bum to erect and putting the annex up is a major event.

we had one of them years ago Jim ,but we were a lot younger them days and still think they are ok if you stay some where for a week or so , but lot of work ,if you were just staying overnight then moving on , espr if it was raining .we got a 16 ft pedigree elite glx van with 2 single beds , they are made in Melbourne .

Did you get one of them pull out awnings with the van ?
I have had a look at a few vans and some of them even have electric powered awnings so all you have to do is push a button and the job is done :)
16 to 18 foot is about the size we are looking at as that would be an easy tow especially if the van has a pop up roof so that it is low profile when being towed.
There are hundreds of different types of vans to choose from and the choice is pretty tough to find the perfect van for the job.
This is what we will be looking at so we can do the Gibb River road and the Gulf country and live Off the Grid for a week or two at a time.
Off road suspension with 16 inch 4wd tyres, Minimum 245/70/16 AT's
Built in dunny and shower and hot water system.
A decent sized fridge/freezer that will operate on either 240v or 12v that is energy efficient and can run for at least a couple of days on the 12v system in the van.
An easy to erect awning.
At least 200ltrs of water capacity
An easy pop up type van.
Electric braking system (Discs not drums)
A fully articulated off road hitch
Capacity to carry 2x 9kg gas bottles
Solar panels and at least 240 amp hours of battery storage with a battery management system.
The stove and kitchen doesn't have to be too flash as I nearly always cook outside on the little gas stoves or the Webber Q as it is more relaxing and it doesn't matter if I splash the sauce when cooking :)
Hopefully we can get everything we need already installed/built in the van so I don't have to make any modifications.
As we will be towing the van with the Hilux twin cab storage isn't too much of a problem as we can fit the little 3kva genset, chainsaw and all the other odds and sods on the tray.
I am having an ARB winch bar fitted next month to my landrover with a 12,000lb winch so we will be able to get out of strife if we have to and I have a smaller 9,000lb winch that I am going to fit to the Hilux as well.
We are really looking forward to getting up in the Kimberlies Sep/Oct then wandering off into the gulf country for a Month or more.
jim , the awning came with the van , [ see first pic ] and also the full curtains for the awning I think you will have to go a bit bigger to get a shower and toilet , in a van , but we have a porta potty and a fold up room for the p/p and shower . we have done a lot of off road camping over the years , so now we are going to take it a bit easy from now on and will only bush camp again if we go back out to the gem fields or the dam to catch more red claws , but I think we have had enough of them now . so we will go out there only for our happy hour every day ay 4 pm ... ,, kel ,,
Kel those lace curtains behind the stove look to me to be a number 1 fire hazard
Besides that it looks great
I lived in a 16 foot van for quite some time many years ago
It was very Cosy
I loved it
The Van looks great Kel and that awning looks dead easy to put up as well :good:
If I have to go to 20ft to have a dunny in the van then so be it because Mrs Trout is adamant that No dunny then NO deal :ok:
Well done Kel, at least it will be easier to get in and out of instead of climbing up into the back of the ute.
Yeah I thought that as well
JIM
Check out this caravan!!and its got those special add ons for the queen fish!!!

P's I have found a 16 foot van with a shower and toilet on Gumtree an Avan brand
Kel those lace curtains behind the stove look to me to be a number 1 fire hazard .
yes Robbie they were , and they were first to go too . so no problems there .
I have been doing a fair bit of work on my Discovery2 to get ready to head off North in a few months.
I have removed all the rear seating and have fitted a snorkel so far and I am just waiting now to fit the Bull bar, Winch, 9" LED spotties and a big lightbar.
Then I will install the rear draws and all the electrics for the 2x 120 amp hour auxiliary batteries for the 12v power I will be needing.
It has been a pain in the Bum and a lot of fun all at the same time :)
Gosh .. I am swooning here
Amazing
And I thought I was clever tonight by 1. Locating a fresh light bulb to fit the bathroom extractor fan 2. Removing the blown light bulb and then replacing it with a working new one. And I even did it safely by using the small stepladder.

A J , check out the step up to the door way , it is only about one foot high , but I still have trouble stepping up to it , so I will have to build a step about 5 or 6 ins high to make it easier for me to get into .
Thanks Kel
I will use our wooden chair in future
