This is just the results from this year. I've got a much more comprehensive set of results from last year, but I haven't included them because it would skew the stats against the 2016 releases.

Surprised at the lack of 2016 special obverse (changeover) 5c, 20c, $1.

I've been complaining about this for the last couple of months, but unfortunately, that doesn't bring them into existence.

Interesting that the 1988 50c seems a little scarcer than it should be - I've seen a definite decline in them too lately.

Yeah, I've been trying to get the kids interested in my hobby.
I thought the changeover wallets would be perfect to get the kids looking at coins, and noticing the differences.

Hasn't been a success at all.

The Changeover coins are a complete and total farce. Half of them aren't even circulating in Brisbane, and those that are are doing so in such small numbers that it takes a glacial amount of time to receive them in your change. Imagine a family with 2-3 kids. Besides all the squabbling over who gets each individual coin, they'd have to remain interested in it for 2-3 years in order to complete the set. Most kids will lose interest in it long before that happens. :(

Come to think of it, they should have distributed the Changeover coins through Woollies. That would have ensured an even supply around the country, and would have ensured that everyone would get them within 6 weeks. Waiting 2-3 years just isn't acceptable when dealing with kids. :@

Good point. Maybe they should distribute them at every supermarket, including Coles, Woollies and IGA. Or maybe they should have minted more of them, so that they made up at least half of all the circulating 2016-dated coins. Having millions and millions of the standard ones just doesn't get me excited. ;)

BTW, I don't usually shop at Woollies, either, but I couldn't resist going there to get the coins. I probably received more Olympic/Paralympic coins in change during those five weeks than the number of Changeover coins I've noodled in a year. Go figure. :dontknow:

The hard part will be persuading me to part with them. I have so few of them that the odds of me giving up any of them are remote. :winkextra:

The $1 changeover coin will be the rarest to find and lowest mintage of all the changeover denominations
