If anyone collects these kinds of errors, feel free to contact me. I don't want it. It is 1984[attachment=3584]
That's not damage. That's a planchet flaw, caused when two layers at different temperatures are rolled together and don't quite fuse properly. Look up 'Cold Shut' too.
Keep it. They're relatively scarce, and while they won't ever be worth a fortune, each one is a unique individual.
worth about $ 3.00 +
There is a lot of them about if you keep looking. I have found well over 200 of this type of "error" in my collection.

Which is about as many as the mules you found, right? ;)
And they're not "errors", they're
Flaws. Errors are repeatable, these are unique.
All of which still means - I don't collect them and don't want it. :)

Actually I have found 3 dollar mules - so far. In fact it was when one of my staff told me about the mules and I went home to find one in my drawer - that started me collecting decimal coin variations. There are enough of them around without collecting errors and flaws.

There really aren't, y'know. But congratulations on finding three without really trying. Awesome effort!
Anyway, I'm sure as soon as you hit the 50 post mark, someone will be more than happy to take that flaw off your hands. Maybe even me. :)
