Title: Meet and Greet
Post by: JeffH on November 13, 2016, 07:25:44 PM
Pedro (Peter) was up this way on the weekend and called in on Saturday.
We had a good chat (not just coins), swapped a few coins and went to lunch with respective wives.
I have exchanged emails with forum members, chatted on the 'phone with some but the first time I have met a fellow forum member face to face. That is nice and I hope the chance to meet other members may arise again.

The only online forum member that I have met up with is Sel from CCF, He has called in a couple of times over the years when he has been in WA, A Top Bloke.
We are thinking of doing a trip through the Eastern states then head up to North Queensland next year for a few weeks So hopefully I will be able to catch up with some of the members as we travel through :good:

i have enjoyed my coin based community friendships
these being - internet based only friendships (mostly due to distance) , and my face to face and the in between - face to face when possible, phone , email otherwise

all started based on coins and have sustained beyond that ....based on friendship

I have run into quite a few forum members at coin shows etc over the past few years however in saying that, I have never run into an overseas member.

Maybe one day........

When I went on a cruise in 2011, it departed from Brisbane, so I made a point of meeting Nancy while I was over there. We had a nice dinner. I have also met Barry, while he was travelling around Australia. He dropped in to the store that I work at. The only other member I have met is Goose from the U.S.A. He arrived in Perth on a cruise ship, so I showed him around the town and took him to coin stores.

Yes, it was excellent to be able to have a bit of a chin wag face to face. Many thanks for making my wife and I welcome. :good:
