Might be more revealing to see who has the highest serial number? Mine are in the 4XX range.

True, but I try to draw the line somewhere on my collecting, so I try
to stick to circulation coins only. :)

Doesn't leave many more for the Auspost coins does it :dodgy: ... If total mintage is genuinely 9108.

That's weird, I thought they were on a mintage to order, it's not like there would be unclaimed sets as they were paid for before minting.
APPARENTLY !!
how come they are now selling them at the RAM shop?
Title: RE: Forum population numbers for the HM Birthday sets
Post by: trout on November 19, 2016, 02:49:52 PM
Maybe they are "returns" But that doesn't make sense as these are selling for above the issue price easily ??
Title: RE: Forum population numbers for the HM Birthday sets
Post by: Noelos237 on November 19, 2016, 03:36:49 PM
I was surprised myself when I saw that they were available, and for the original price of $25. Not sure what the go is with these sets.

Edit: the number is 2916 if I remember correctly.

Maybe some collectors got frustrated with the 3 months wait for these and cancelled their orders we will never know But one thing we do know beyond any shadow of a doubt is that RAM LIED to us about these being the ONLY way to get the coins.
They ARE nice coins But I haven't even bothered to look at my sets since I found out that I had been blatantly lied to and even thinking about them now brings a nasty taste in my mouth .

As these sets will always retain or maybe even increase in value I am surprised that Downies haven't bought all the leftovers from RAM yet and that they are still available to the general public .

I would imagine that Downies would have ordered a few hundred of these and that they too would not be amused with RAM's deception either.
