I am interested in finding out about (and obtaining) the stubloon. (http://www.beefcentral.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/stubloon-2-398x400.jpg) Any information would be appreciated.

I hope that's a Darwin stubby!
What a good year on that bottle :D
I had a look at my book but I couldn't find anything on that one sorry Jeff :(
According to the article the beers were 28 cents:shok: Now pubs charge $5 for a beer.:@
Unicorn, I just checked and they stopped making Darwin Stubbies last year.
never seen them at all but I have traveled many thousands of miles on the new beef roads when i was younger
they were pretty well single lane bitumen roads and a far sight nicer to travel on than the corrugated dirt highways
the beef roads were very much anticipated by all
These are an interesting token and are a part of the North's colourful history :good:
The tradition of paying for favours with beer still continues today, But now it is by the carton
And not just in the north.

Bugga ..... I did have one (that I bought at Eridunda back in 1986) but it's long gone now.
Bloody horrible beer...no wonder they stopped making it.
More of a tourist gimmick now.
My coin club monthly magazine has an article on these way, way back in issue number 3 (1986). I'll look it up and see if it says anything different to the article linked to above. From memory, I think there were a couple of varieties.
no token but found this book on ebay
