Title: Copy stand - coin photography
Post by: ausproofs on July 31, 2016, 08:12:24 AM
Hello Folks,

I have decided to get a proper set up for my Nikon D3200 camera. I really wanted to get a good copy stand type set up to do my coins photography... Where can I pick one up for a reasonable price. Before you say "DIY",I am hopeless at building things...

Thanks....

When I bought my camera it was second hand and it came with a really solid and stable tripod, I use this for my coin pictures :good:
I imagine that a copy stand would be a better option but if you can't get one try using a decent tripod, I don't think that they are that expensive either.

Thank you Trout, I have a good tripod, but never imagined using it in the set up you have suggested... I will see how I go...

I had to get a fairly low table to set mine up on so that I could see the viewfinder due to the height of the tripod even fully retracted :good:

What sort of lens are you going to use for your setup?
Markn advised me to get a tamron SP AF90mm Macro1:1 and it works a treat :)

...do a search of some of the Stamp Forums, there are smaller tripods and stands that they use as well as specialty camera mounts.

Your white balance is a bit off on the 1st, 2nd and 4th photos. Try changing the white balance setting.
